They can't appreciate a legend dropping pretty girls on their head like it's 1995

Not gonna lie. I thought the facepainted thing was a man when I first saw it. Until someone told me it was a woman's match the misunderstanding wasn't cleared up.

they are not attractive

No critics are shitting on it though, the reactions I've seen are overwhelmingly positive. The only negatives are the shoot autists who can't deal with the ref and time keeper fucking up for a 3 seconds that affected nothing.

No one is shitting on it? Everyone here thinks it was great. Meltzer and Bryan also think it awesome. I read Twitter and everyone is praising it. Who is shitting on it?

Which critics? I only listened to WOR and and the Wrestling Inc one (because it was the only one up at the time and I wanted to listen to someone talk about the show).

Meltzer and Alvarez put the match over and liked it, but the Wrestling Inc Indian shitter and Matt Morgan didn't like it and their entire criticism boiled down to "waaaaaah we didnt know who these fucking japanese women were, why was this on the card? wtf is joshi???"

Yeah I’ve only heard good reactions to it

>"Why is everyone saying AEW is a huge failure and everything was dumb?"
>seething edrones think this is subtle

It has received positive reviews on WON, cagematch and VOW.
What critics are you talking about?
Shitheads on Yea Forums?

>Chris: This quality of this match is a question of taste. If you are a fan of the Japanese women's style, you're probably into this. For me, it's hit-and-miss. On this show, though, it's mostly a miss. It's not a bad match; it's just not the kind of match I like to watch most of the time. It's also following the four-way women's match, which I enjoyed a lot more. Again, this isn't necessarily a bad match, it's just not for me. There were also two badly timed near falls that took me right out of this one close to the end. Rating: 5/10

>Hikaru Shida, Riho & Ryo Mizunami def. Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki & Emi Sakura via pinfall: While there were certainly a handful of fun spots to pop the crowd and produce an adoring "this is wrestling" chant, it's difficult to look past how much this one wore out its welcome. The breakneck pace was fun but the near falls were far too many (and the action routinely sloppy). To make matters worse, a botch near the end saw the timekeeper ring the ball and music cued up despite the referee holding up two fingers on a near fall. Shida put away Sakura, her teacher and mentor, for the pin. Grade: D+

This is getting sad, edrones.

>Hikaru Shida, Riho Abe, Ryo Mizunami def. Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki and Emi Sakura

>I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I know any of these people who are, but what I will say is that I have been invested in Japanese women’s wrestling for a while, and I believe the purpose of this match was to acclimate the crowd to this kind of style.

>I think this match effectively accomplished its purpose, although some portions of the match were a bit disjointed. I think the parts of this match I liked the most was Aja facing Mizunami. You can never go wrong with two bigs going at each other.

>Also, did you happen to notice some of the sick upper body strength shown in this match? I think that was a unique quality that made it stand out. Some portions of the match just dragged, and I think there were some other spots that were mistimed, but I enjoyed this more than I loathed it. ***1/4

>There are singles matches on this show, right? Up next was a 6 Women Match between Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, and Emi Sakura vs. Hikaru Shida, Riho Abe, and Ryo Mizunami… I have ZERO idea who any of these ladies are with the exception fo Aja Kong, thus I’m heading into this match completely cold as a fan. I do love the styles of most of the participants, as they get that you have to look “larger than life” here while competing in a serious match. And we have the first real clunker of the night. Too much Aja Kong, whom they bragged was a “veteran of over 35 years”. Well, she showed it… Moved slowly out there and hurt the flow the match. Some of the younger wrestlers hit some nice spots here and there, it was ultimately anchored by some slow looking action here and there. Hikaru Shida, Riho Abe, and Ryo Mizunami won the match in the end. [ ** ] Completely different presentation from the better Women’s 4 way match earlier, specifically with the talent involved.

>doesn't know who they are

What?

>I have ZERO idea who any of these ladies

>liking the 4way better
Jesus yikes

He probably just knows the main Stardom girls like Mayu and uhhhh that's it

Just makes me realize how fucking cringe western wrestling is if they thought the bullshit stuff women in the fatal 4 way was better than the fast-paced and charismatic joshi style that they were treated to.

>I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I know any of these people who are, but what I will say is that I have been invested in Japanese women’s wrestling for a while
wtf did he mean by this

How come Meltzer and Alvarez are the only critics who liked it? Are they just AEW or joshi marks? Or are they really the only credible wrestling critic opinions? Most everyone on Yea Forums popped for the match in the game thread except for the entrances when the crowd was crickets and we were clowning it. But then we all got hype when the match picked up.

Cringe. Literal WHO opinions discarded. imagine letting this live in your head. WOR put the match over. everyone in the streams put the match over. Jericho put the match over. Yea Forums put the match over! The fucking live crowd was giving a standing ovation at by the end. The only arguable point to discuss from these posts is "Aja was slow and it hurt the pace of the match." But she had and incredible presence monster presence. Godzilla doesn't need to move fast. She executed flawlessly. The timekeeper fucked up, everyone agrees with that. But that's not on the girls and it really did not detract because the ref handheld the situation like a complete professional. The rest of these shit opinions are "i don't know any of these girls and...um....yeah it's not my thing?"

it was not the greatest match of all-time but it was better than the womeme's match by far. and better than basically anything else you're going to see women do that isn't from Japan.

Lmao westerners finding out obaasan is shit and consistently the worst part of DDT.

the 4way was utter shit. joshi match was fun and literally pulled the POV out of a nose dive cause it was tanking up to that point

He preferred the match where 2 of the 4 wrestlers were outside of the ring passed out for the majority of it?
I swear these idiots just like to insert their pretentiousness into every review.

Just go on twitter and search "AEW joshi." It's 90% positive, a lot from people who had no idea who any of these women were before and never watched Japanese women wrestler. What little grumbling is from obvious incel hate-nerds with no avatar and 6 followers and #MAGA in their bio with the whole "NOT MY THING" virtue signaling.

the part where Yuka throws the metal box up towards Aja and then turns around to the crowd giggling and puts her finger up to her mouth like "ssshhhh!!!"

Weebshit is, was, and will forever not be a draw.

That was so awesome. She's going to be huge in this country if they keep on bringing her over.

this is the most e-Drone opinion i have ever seen. he can't like something that is different because it's not like anything he's familiar with from WWE so it makes him uncomfortable.

It filled Madison Square Garden last month.

The pro-wrestling.net, and 411 mania reports were all positive about the Joshi match. Also, one of pw torch's reports were positive outside of whining about the bell ringing.

you can tell the crowd had no idea who any of them were, but by the time Riho did that swinging crucifix pin they were like "holy shit" and started paying attention

>The timekeeper fucked up, everyone agrees with that.
to be fair to the timekeeper, the referee *did* slap her hand onto the mat on the three and didn't pull it back so you can understand why they thought that was the finish

Because women can't wrestle

Bryan Alvarez on WOR: "So I was sitting in the crowd and there was a huge group of teenage girls behind me and do you know what they loved?"

Dave Meltzer: "Marko Stunt!"

Bryan: "Noo, they loved the Aja Kong match! They loved the Japanese women, just like in the days of All Japan's Women! When all of those girls would show up!"

Dave: "Trinity, who's my son's girlfriend, that was her favorite match on the show!"

Bryan: "Now I loved that match too but that's because Aja Kong is... the best."

Dave: "Yuka Sakazaki was really, really good in that match. Her selling was real good. Yeah."

Guys? I think we just found our next female mega star to tap into that teenage fangirl demographic. Yuka is DIMES.

Attached: yuka scrunch.png (316x414, 303K)

Funny was when she did the "I will be bridging over here and I don't care that you put most of your weight on me, because my neck is from steel", absolute basic spot, whole crowd went OOOOOOOOH
Yes, cheer, you cretins, because this tiny jap has more talent in her big toe than half of women's division in WWE.

The timekeeper should know the actual finish, it should be written down in front of them or told to them before the match begins. If they don't know the difference between a moonsault and a running knee they're an idiot.

Also when Aja kicked seated Riho in the back and smugly looked up into the last row of the bleacher like she had just kicked a field goal and was watching it go.

They feel they need to hold up the NA women's scene instead and I've noticed a lot of fans of NA women's wrestling get really fucking defensive and snippy when talking about joshi because they know that their waifus aren't on the level of the Jap women.

If someone rates the joshi match below that awful four-way that's where they're coming from. Gotta protect the girls they "stan" and buy gifts for.

Fans on twitter who watched the show liked the match and seemed to really like Riho. Critics on "legit" websites were negative to lukewarm on the match and if they liked anyone from it then it was Shida.

>I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I know any of these people who are
>but what I will say is that I have been invested in Japanese women’s wrestling for a while
This is the power of Stardrones lmao

How the fuck are you "invested in Japanese women's wrestling" and not know who the fuck any of them are? The most obscure name in the match was probably Mizunami since nobody watches WAVE and even then she works lots of other promotions anyway.

This match was way better than the other girls match. The 4 way felt like a WWE style shitter.

>crowd was all 'what the fuck is this weeb shit' at the beginning
>by the end of the match they were all on their feet clapping
that's how I know you're full of shit

I knew them all except Ryo and she was pretty based too.

Aja is still a better bumper than most the 'athletic' women's wrestlers.

Gook shit is for fags and pedos. Which one are you OP?

>slow
>sloppy
>full of botches
It really did remind me of WWE

I guess it was the weakest in the main card but Riho-tan is awesome so that fixes anything.

>6 literally whos come out
>Crowd makes zero noise for them whatsoever
>Match starts off pretty quiet
>They get more and more over with the crowd until they're popping the crowd during the big spots.
>They start chanting "This is wrestling" during the match
>They start doing the "We will, we will rock you" chant
>They get audibly and visibly upset when the timekeeper botches the finish because they were starting to tear the house down.
>By the end, the crowd, who gave no shits about them before, had accepted these 6 strangers as 6 of their own girls.
>The match got over big with female teenagers in the audience

This is honestly one of my favorite stories in all of wrestling all year. That's big.

Attached: yuka laylee.jpg (901x1200, 208K)

Dave Meltzer has never covered any of them in his "comprehensive newsletter" so they don't want to admit that there might be good wrestling out there that isn't WON approved.

The state of whoever these people are

Seething

can I... purchase those polaroids they're holding somewhere? just as a gag, haha.

if you go to the show you can buy them. You could also buy their photobooks on ddt's shop

That complaint is so dumb too. The entire point of the match was to introduce some joshi wrestlers and the style to American audiences. Faggots should just watch NXT if all they want to do is watch shows so they can point at the screen and go "I know that person".

It wasn't really that great and the "this is wrestling" chant was started for no reason. They barely made any tags or did any noteworthy spots up until that point.

>B+ for the four-way
>B+ for Best Friends vs. Jack/Angelico
>B- for the Battle Royal
>Rated the SCU/Strong Hearts match higher despite the fact you could have the same criticisms
>Complain about near falls and spot shit that wore out its welcome, rate Lucha Bros/Bucks A- despite it being a no psychology spotfest that went way, way longer than it needed
The fans seem to have loved it but there's definitely a concerted effort among the critics (besides maybe WON) to downplay and shit on the joshi in favor of propping up the American women.

They thought it was better because they probably talk to those girls all the time on twitter and harbor fantasies about fucking them and delude themselves into thinking they have a chance. Harder to do that with Japanese women living in Japan who speak little to no English and the one who is moving to the States is taken.

This is the impression I'm getting. Every time joshi wrestle in western promotions against western women they have to slow down the pace like Mayu, Asuka, Kairi, and Io have done. There's a ton of people who have a vested interest in making women seem equal to the men without demanding a hire workrate.

why are you even reading what these nobodies think about wrestling shows

Yea Forums, WON, Reddit, twitter, they all seemed to love it. It's just critics who obviously want to downplay it because fans of western women's wrestling have a giant complext about the fact it's nowhere near as good as the Japanese stuff (and this is after like 20 years of slow decline in the joshi scene). There's some good women in the NA scene but they largely exist in WWE and more or less had to have years to actually get good and even then they're largely only good in heavily scripted matches.

Wrestlers like Britt Baker and Kylie Rae are more or less no better than TJPW low card fodder like Yuki Aino and then you have ones like Chelsea Green who are actually worse than rookies somehow. The difference is that the Japanese women do seem to take some pride in their work and try (unless you're Yuna Manase and even she's been better about it) to improve or work hard. NA women know that they've got beta orbiters ready to buy stuff from their wishlists and (along with the media) ready to shield them from criticism so there's no real desire to actually work hard or get better. Why bother when you can just Nash your way through a ho-hum career?

Not even the first time this month that happened to Yuka and at the end of a match as well. It definitely made the end of the tag title match from Yes! Wonderland awkward as well.

I want Meltz and Alvarez to start watching TJPW and try to wrap their heads around Haruna (during the few times her back isn't injured), Pom or sleepytime choo choo autist Raku. They'd probably like the NEO Biishiki-gun act.

I just googled "double or nothing reviews" to see what people thought about it and was surprised to see so many critics shitting on what I thought was one of the best matches of the night. I don't read reddit or shit.

ive never seen a joshi match nor have heard of any of these girls, but i loved the match. the girl with the baggy pants was a cutie and looked like an anime character. it'd be nice if they continue to feature matches with different styles from around the world.

Joshi had one of the best matches on the show. It's hilarious the vast difference in ability between them and the 3way

Time to email this faggot some doxxes and death threats

Go to a TJPW show and pay for the cheki so you get to talk with them for a minute and get a polaroid taken with them that they'll also sign. Same as you would at any idol show.

Look at this faggot and ask yourself if their opinion means anything

EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

People really found a reason to shit on anything about the show? Literally the only match on the show that didn’t really need to be there was Sabian vs Guevara. They’re good but it dragged on way too long and felt like something out of 205 Live and not even one of the best bouts. Everything else was great, though. I felt joshi puroresu was represented very well to people who may have never seen any of them besides Aja.

Easily outclasses the american """women""" with less time and they didn't botch their finish unlike someone's cum sleeve

It's already over for WWE
Now that the western audience has been awoken to the power of Joshi AEW has a weapon that cannot be stopped
Joshi is literally going to save prowrestling

That was my favorite match. Even the referee not selling the time keeper (which she no sold it like a champ) was amazing.
My knock against it were the obvious botches. the Sindibad girl botches a lot

She was great.

Attached: yukasakazaki.png (213x301, 103K)

I unironically need to know what Yuka smells like.

She was a botching machine. But at least she didn't botch too badly

Examples? I don't remember any botches except for the timekeeper.

>it's another western """journalists""" attempt to smear the superiority of asian women hit piece

hmmmmm, where have i noticed this before?

Attached: 1535813995525.jpg (2996x1353, 1.07M)

Riho looked more like a star than Yuka did, but Yuka still looked good.

Nothing wrong with calling out the right for being yellow fevered beta boys and creating little school shooters

>The most obscure name in the match was probably Mizunami since nobody watches WAVE and even then she works lots of other promotions anyway.

Not positive on the exact numbers, but Mizunami has worked SHIMMER numerous times and might have the most US appearances than all of them aside from Aja.

She was supposed to break the 3 count with top of the rope elbow drop. She took so long to jump that the ref stopped counting at 2 when she was mid air

Pretty sure more people in the west watch Ice Ribbon and TJPW than US women indy shit.

I'm not into foot jobs but...

I'll take one please.

Attached: 20190526_212708.gif (400x224, 1.02M)

There is no difference between white women and Asian women. Weebs only think there is because they've got no actual experience with Asians, so all they have is racist and outdated fantasies of them being good little housewives with no mind of their own.

It's pretty common in Japan for them to fuck up count-breakups and end up holding the 2 count for way too long. It's the worst meme in Japanese wrestling.

SHIMMER has been irrelevant for years, tho

>The difference is that the Japanese women do seem to take some pride in their work and try...to improve or work hard

Aside from getting more reps in training and shows then the average Westen women wrestler, in Japan there's always a Senpai to come up to you after a bad match and ask you why you had a bad match. They'll say it straight to your face that you fucked up. There's really nothing like that in the indy scene in the West, and any veteran that would do that would be seen as a total asshole. Instead it's all half-hearted "good jobs" and back slaps from the other wrestlers who will only criticize you behind your back.

Yeah she was like a half second late on one spot because she was selling for her entire team.

>There is no difference between white women and Asian women

except for the difference of asian women being more attractive, more feminine and aging better

Attached: 1535983690228.png (592x576, 961K)

Tell that to WWE who raids their roster every year for numerous girls.

landwhales seething

Japan hold the 2-count longer anyway and always has. It's one of the more common problems when Japanese wrestlers come to work for Western promotions, the refs count pretty even 1-2-3 and not 1-2--3.

Did you see the enterance of thst one bitch. I litterally turned of my computer and went outside when I saw that shit

>more attractive
If you like bug eyed planks
>more feminine
This is a meme and not reality
>aging better
See above

If that's the case it doesn't seem to be working in TJPW

From what I can tell, Sanshiro doesn't really care about the promotion aside from it making money for him. Even at the shows he goes to, he's never paying attention usually starting at his phone or talking the random DDT wrestler there. Does TJPW have a joshi senpai or are they just trained "1-2-3 Jump" by DDT men wrestlers?

I remember seeing some articles from white women shitting on Marie Kondo of all people.

Attached: yuka and mizuki.jpg (923x1229, 357K)

The aging better isn't a meme. Asians typically have more fat in their face which gives a more youthful appearance. As we age we lose that fat which reveals wrinkles and makes our faces look more sickly.

There's no sole credit for who trains them but yes and it's Makoto Oishi. I'd say it shows but Oishi when he turns it on like in his match with Endo or teaming with Asahi is very good.

Then kys, no one will miss ya

I thought it was largely him and Cherry though Cherry's long gone from DDT. I still figure Masa would be better as the head trainer for the girls since a.) he's a better wrestler than Oishi and b.) he has plenty of experience working with women anyway due to him working with Emi for so long.

Some of them probably get training from elsewhere too like Saki obviously trains with Yukio.

Holy shit fuckin' rekt

What's the Joshi style? Post webm

Then why did they play Shida's music when Sakura got the pin? Also, you should go read what an actual "Dusty Finish" is.

Running the ropes better, taking more bumps, making contact when you kick someone, and trying to actually get the crowd excited.

Probably. Bad move, though. Guidance from someone that's hands-on (real guidance not lowcarders from other promotions like Yuna or Mizuki) is something they really do need.

Actual wrestling vs. WWE runner up beauty queen botchfests

Hiraku Shida works me into a shoot

I'd imagine some of the longer tenured wrestlers help run things too. Shoko, Yuka and Rika seem like the types who'd definitely be pretty hands on with helping train the rookies. Rika especially since she's been working a lot of matches with the rookies since she came back.

Yuka has enormous potential in the States. I'm hearing she got over huge with the teenage girls in the audience.

It was a five hour show there was no need for it to be on this show. I’m all for putting Joshi in the mix but this was the type of meaningless 6 man tag get them on the show filler that we all hate when WWE does it. Book them in a meaningful match or angle on the first TV show instead and cut 20 minutes from an already bloated show.

Again there was no point to the match, your argument is that it was a showcase, which is not a PPV level match. This could have been done on TV and bloated the show

>show off the range of joshi you're gonna have in your promotion regularly including 2 signees on your first ever PPV meant to sell people on your company
>"there was no point to the match"
This is the mentally capacity of an E-Drone, huh?

Ignoring the fact that it had an AEW contracted wrestler who is probably going to be the ace of the women's division, it helps differentiate the company from its rivals by showcasing a style of wrestling you won't see anywhere else in America and help make it feel like its not just another WWE clone.

Why would they not show off every aspect of their product on it's debut? Thats honestly dumb as fuck.

I really liked the match, and I don't have seen a previous match of any of this girls except for Aja, I think that Yuka Sakazaki and Riho were fucking great in this match and Sakura worked the crowd good... But, I expected more of Hikaru Shida, considering all the shitpost people made of this particularly girl, I can't deny that this girl is hot btw.

Projecting much, why don't you do us all a favour, and Get a Clue, or how about you just get off my board

There was no point outside of a showcase, which again can be done on TV
It had nothing to do with who is contracted and everything to do with eating up time on the show with a meaningless 6 man. If you kept this and cut SCU vs Stronghearts I wouldn’t be making this argument. This was a WWE card
Their debut was all in despite their branding, and this is a PPV. PPV matches on a “real sporting” card shouldn’t have meaningless showcases

>Their debut was all in
No it wasn't dumbo

What fucking TV do they have to show it on, brainlet? It's May.

Yeah, you wait til October and not waste time on a PPV
Yes it was lol. They aren’t calling these shows Double or Nothing and All Out and booking All Out at the same venue for no reason. All In was an AEW show that tricked ROH into allowing them to use their infrastructure as a launching point

>wh*te woman with a tattoo
Absolute trash

Yuka Sakazaki is my new favourite wrestler and I had never heard of her before.

>Yeah, you wait til October and not waste time on a PPV
Good thing they didn't waste anyone's time, then.
>"there was literally no point to the match"
>"but 1/3 of the match is signed to the company and joshi are gonna be brought over in a manner just like this so yes there was a point to it"
>"n-no that doesn't count they should've waited 5 or 6 months instead of their debut show to show what their product is gonna fully look like
The state of you and this goalpost.

>All In was an AEW show that tricked ROH into allowing them to use their infrastructure as a launching point
On second thought it's possible...
Everything is right about this except the part about it being an AEW show.

is my wife so treat her kindly
