>tfw you're about to get fucking ditched
Tfw you're about to get fucking ditched
OH NO NO NO NO
Someone post the crowd from their last show. Had to be about 100 people there
nah.
AEW is already too big for NJPW.
Right, so about the same as Smackdown?
LOL
ROH was already dying.
New Japan doesn't want a partner, they want a slave. ROH will continue to be their slave. AEW has nothing of value to them when Kenny and Jericho can already work there still.
I ditched them 10 years ago get on with the times
Do you think NJPW wouldn't wanna work with somebody that has any leverage in the relationship? Because that's certain the status of their relationship with RoH right now, but, I disagree. I think NJPW wants to keep growing and being with AEW would help them do that.
This
I hope AEW scoops my niggas Dalton and PCO out of there, the rest can go to NXT for all I care.
Brody is the Michaels of Villain Enterprises so without him the others won't be worth a shit
Given NJPW's history, they want to work with people who will be submissive to them and their demands.
So the answer is
>no, NJPW doesn't want to work with other promotions that have leverage
This and Jay Lethal.
Wasn't TNA decently large at the time of their partnership? Granted that got fucked when they TNAed all over themselves but AEW has already shown themselves reasonably more sane and there's a number of people that have worked closely with NJPW and will obviously have more respect for the partnership.
TNA has been fledgling to stay afloat, their recent success with booking hasn't translated with success in ratings because they are too far in the weeds for it to do any good. New Japan wants to partner with a company for western expansion but they want to be seen as the brighter half of the equation. So far only the marks at ROH have fallen for the delusion of partnership that they have acquiesced to, and the Elite crew were the brains behind that anyway so now that they have AEW New Japan doesn't know how to tread water in the US anymore, and doesn't have any US draws to keep them afloat if they did know how to present themselves.
AEW is a targeted attack against New Japan and ROH due to the resentment the Bucks have against them, and neither side will know how to combat it in the long run. Everyone wants to make this an AEW vs. WWE thing, but New Japan and ROH are going to be the real casualties when everything is said and done.
it's just not the way NJPW has ever operated.
They makes sure they get the best out of any partnership. Always. ALWAYS.
NJPW & WCW
>NJPW got nWo Japan and got to pocket most of that money.
>nWo Japan was bigger than Bullet Club & LOS combined.
>They never really had to send their top guys over to WCW, and when they did their guys went over or were made to look strong.
NJPW & NOAH
>NOAH still has not recovered from their 2015-17 partnership it literally nearly killed the company.
NJPW & CMLL
>while this is a longstanding partnership, NJPW uses CMLL as a dumping ground for young boys and for guys who need to work new gimmicks
>Most recently, CMLL gave LOS to NJPW aka the biggest dime machine the company has. What did CMLL get in return? Nothing really.
NJPW & ROH
>NJPW always beats ROH's guys and used ROH to get semi-established in America.
NJPW & TNA
>NJPW got to use TNA top guys and matched them up against their inferior guys to make them look on par by comparison on their biggest shows (Angle/Nagata, Angle/Nakamura, Jeff/Naito, RVD/Yano)
>TNA got to use Tanahashi for a minute, but did nothing with him
>NJPW used it as a dumping ground for young boys (Okada, Naito, Goto etc all did time there)
NJPW & DDT
>NJPW basically just did this brief deal to get warm to Ibushi
>ended with Tanahashi squashing HARASHIMA in DDT and Tanahashi then cutting a promo about how low level DDT is.
New Japan's popularity in the U.S. might wane, but New Japan sure as shit won't be a casualty
they will continue to do just fine at home and in other parts of the world
>NJPW are always the company that sends away green wrestlers on excursion to develop... but they don't take other companies rookie talents in return.
makes you think
>ended with Tanahashi squashing HARASHIMA in DDT and Tanahashi then cutting a promo about how low level DDT is.
Link? That sounds pretty based.
I wish I would've saved the webm, but like last week there was one from this time period of Tanahashi exiting DDT and the fans throwing trash at him and flipping him off
