He was on some podcast a while back (don't remember who, anyone?) and the host brought this up. Jericho said something along the lines of that move straining his back due to the way he applies it/angle he bends worse than pretty much anything else he does. Said to use it even somewhat regularly would hurt his back for weeks and if he wanted to not be in pain he had to stop using it. But said he'd probably use it again on rare occasion when he felt it was worth it.

desu you could probably just do a single-leg gutbuster but you hit your opponent in the neck instead of in the stomach, maybe set up with an elbow to the back into it as opposed to doing a regular fireman's carry into it
like a regular suplex setup before you throw the opponent's arm over your shoulder but you move to the side and hit them in the back with an elbow driving their throat into your knee
