Am I the only one who thought he was overrated?
Every once in a while his promos were a little more coherent than the rest but they all felt screechy, rambling, and all over the place.
His matches were also pretty lackluster with just an average brawler's moveset.
The only thing he did that drew dimes was Piper's Pit.

It's just you. He's one of the best guys to ever grab a mic. You likely only know him from his face WWF run. The guy could cut one of the best promos ever and in the process get the other guy over while getting him some of the best heat ever seen. The guy got death threats at his hotel frequently and even had his rental car almost flipped over. The only thing that saved him was the fact that King Kong Bundy and Bob Orton were in the vehicle with him.
As far as his wrestling goes, he was much better in his pre-WWF days. His stuff for GCW and the NWA is borderline awesome. His feud with Flair is some of the best wrestling you'll ever see and the promos were GOAT. He suffered a serious injury right before he came to the WWF and couldn't wrestles for months. That's why he was mostly a manager/mouthpiece in his first year in WWF. That injury along with a few others he got earlier in his career severely limited his move set after he moved to the WWF.
He was great in ring.

Sad thing about Roddy is that he has never won the WWF championship.
Vince wanted to put it on him but he refused. He knew the better money was Hogan being the champ and coming after him instead of Hogan chasing him and the belt. With Hogan being the champ it made the feud more personal. Hogan wanted to kick Roddy's ass cause he was a dick instead of wanting to kick his ass just cause he was the champ.
