We might need a few threads for this. Pic related for me. MVP could've been so much more than the mid card jobber they made him
ITT: Wrestlers the Fed completely squandered
>the Fed
Disagree. He was not interesting in the least. No charisma and nothing special. Just another guy who could "wrestle", whatever that means.
I suggest Nathan Jones. The guy could have been a big star. He had everything a wrestler needs to be a star.
wtf that's me
Probably not a consistent main eventer, but at least an upper midcarder
He sucked, he pussied out of the sunset flip at WM 25’s MITB
GOAT
>No charisma
You're selling him short. He was no Steve Austin or The Rock but MVP had solid promos. Definitely more charisma than current main event shitters.
>I suggest Nathan Jones. The guy could have been a big star.
Jones had the look but he could not work for shit. That's why they took him out at Mania 19 until the very end of the match. He was that bad
Based raven
Yea this shitter has main even written all over him
I honestly believe Raven could have been a bonified main eventer in both WCW and WWF if they actually gave him a little freedom. I could even see him having a good run as a heel world champ.
Raven was just like Jake. He should have been a upper/top guy but between the drugs and politics he had no chance. Similar story for RVD
Shut the fuck up 'fore i drop you with an Evenflow DDT
Yeah someone who looks like that could never be world champ
Hardy had a look that was pretty cool for the time plus he spent years getting it over. Even in 2002 Raven looked like a clown trashman
Watch the segment of him playing basketball vs Matt Hardy
The dude was a pretty entertaining heel
Raven's look in the 90's/early 00's is a snapshot of what was cool at the time.
>but he could not work for shit.
Since when does that matter? In fact, if you can work you aren't really a star. No one who starts with star power is groomed to be a carpenter.
Oh please.
Ask yourself just how shit a 7 foot tall jacked guy would have to be for Vince McMahon to cancel his Mania match last minute with a throwaway angle on Heat.
If you'd seen Jones before you'd know he wasn't that bad.
this shit was weird
I think he is charismatic, but fuck he is boring as hell. Maybe its just writing, but other guys overcome bad writing.
>pretty cool for the time
Raven literally looks like the 90’s grunge movement personified he would have been huge given the right treatment
I think it was the shitty story lines he was put in. Outside his Matt Hardy and Kane feuds I literally can't think of anything memorable during his tenure.
Except I have, and he was.
He didn't even meet Vince's standards my man. A true shitter through and through.
Not to mention he quit because he literally couldn't hack it.
Did you do the sunset flip at wm25’s mitb? Didn’t think so
He was just fine as a wrestler. You don't have to do a lot of moves to be good. He was absolutely fine. I don't know Vince, so I can't ask him about it, and he probably wouldn't remember. But Jones was just fine in the ring and could have drawn a lot of money.
He.
Was.
Bad.
No workrate, no charisma, no gab. He was just big man on campus that didn’t even try to learn the ropes. Vince had peddled out trash wrestlers before because they at least had something close to one of these three things. Pretty sure Al Snow’s head could be considered a better wrestler than Jones
>nathan jones posts on Yea Forums
Not sure if based or cringe
>Workrate
Conversation ended.
Melina was so damn hot during this period.
Based
t. Nathan Jones
Your big hoss hero Vinny Mac didn't even think he was good enough to get squashed by Taker.
If you can't discuss work rate, you're probably too emotionally stunted to have a serious discussion about wrestling
I thought they could have done more with kidman
I think he was just conceding defeat
She really fucking was.
>workrate
This is the term smart marks use to describe how many tricks a wrestler can do, right?
>no charisma
He had a lot of charisma. When he enters a room, everyone looks. Charisma is how well you attract people.
>no gab
You don't even know what this means.
Such as?
>a serious discussion about wrestling
MNM drew dimes with me my man.
He never made it past the undercard and was regulated to the jobber cruiserweight division. He could've been a solid mid-carder better than the midcard shitters of the time like Luther Reigns
But who would take Kidman, the little itchy kid, seriously against someone like Luther Reigns?
>regulated to the jobber cruiserweight division
You know he quit halfway during a tour of Australia right?
Not only was he so shit that Vince didn't do anything with a jacked giant, but he couldn't handle wrestling either. Literally up and quit like a seven foot sissy.
I bet you like Kenny Omega.
>Melina will never post a picture of your boner pills online
And now he makes more money than any wrestler while working a fifth of the dates. So who really won in this?
He was a credible threat in WCW feuding with people like Hogan. I don't see why he couldn't be viewed as such in WWE. You know outside of Vince
No he wasn't. That thing with Hogan was terrible and should have never been done. It did not draw a single viewer in. It was a pointless waste.
>It did not draw a single viewer in
Me and all my buddies marked out for it.
No one cares. You'd watch anything they put out.
t.meltz
You just said it didn't draw anyone in. I just proved you wrong. Stop acting like you speak for the audience jabroni.
So you're saying you weren't already marks before that? Then why did you say you marked out?
Sounds like he made the right decision in that case.
To clarify I have nothing against Nathan Jones, hell I even pop for him when I see him in stuff because he's an Aussie, but he was an awful fit for wrestling and his involvement in it is a humorous footnote at best.
Vince McMahon, the guy who put Giant Gonzales in a Mania match, took him off the show last minute because that's how bad he was.
Kek
And it sounds like Vince made the wrong decision. He could have had a slice of Jones' money, but he refused to put the work in. Maybe put him against a carpenter, rather than Albert and The Giant.
I was a very casual viewer of WCW and the Kidman-Hogan feud made me a fan.
So you were a viewer? Well, it wouldn't matter if you had a hundred thousand friends watching with you, because the ratings dropped by more than that.
Faggot stop moving goalposts you just said:
>It did not draw a single viewer in
You're wrong. I'm going over brother you gotta make me look strong
You're like the people who call CM Punk a draw, even though ratings fell when he was on. Hogan/Kidman turned people away. It hurt their business, but you want more of that. That is sad .
I never said Kidman was a draw faggot and I never said it was good for business. All I said was it drew me and my friends in. Stop making such definitive statements like a know it all jabroni and I won't have to stretch you next time
Nice phony insider terms. You must have autism.
cry some more
If I were autistic like you I would.
ya seethe?
What a mark.
RVD 01/02
DDP
Owen (he was better than Bret)
Muhammad Hassan
Gail Kim
Jones quit, he wasn't fired.
You don't really understand what you're talking about. Have a nice life user.
And? That was on Vince. Too many dates, not enough money. Sounds like you have never been in business before. Your parents don't count.
stop shitposting jabroni
Go back to your dad's house, kid. You're out of your fucking league.
He doubled down on his trolling to the point where he began seriously arguing a point that makes him look like a retard. Just keep prodding him my man. Easy (you)s.
What is this board's obsession with big talentless hacks?
7/10 be more subtle next time. also you need a better gimmick.
You don't even know what a gimmick is. You're using the internet smart mark definition.
ITT: Two homosexuals argue about whether Nathan Jones was a shitter or not.
>Owen over Bret
Might definitely be arguable. But personally the Hitman gimmick and Bret’s overall look put him over the edge in terms of actual star power. Owen could have been much more with some actual work put into his character. Though I remember that he was definitely on his way out to retire with his family before his accident.
Bret was so bad he almost put Vince out of business.
he was really bad
Remember how well it went "his dream" of wrestle in Japan?
I was an MVP mark.
he would've looked good with any strap.

>A SERIOUS DISCUSSION ABOUT WRESTLING
Raven in 98 was amazing when he feuded with DDP for the US title. They elevated the title and Raven was so over when he won the title at Spring Stampede
Of course WCW being WCW, they had Goldberg pad his stats with a totally unnecessary squash Raven for the title that Goldberg didn't need as he was going for the World title in 2 months time and vacate the US Title
>Giant Gonzales
what the fuck was with that stupid muscle suit
