Who are they?

crinfe

Okada is the GOAT so take your pick from his matches

it is absolute dimes
and going back to watch it knowing shibata destroyed himself in this match only makes it more kino

there will be a rematch when shibata is better, and it will be pure roresu kino

Rewatched it yesterday, pure kino

This match represents the fall of Inokism and the rise of a new breed in New Japan. Shibata is the former mixed martial artist with hard hitting offense, and he uses a lot of Inoki moves in the match like an octopus. Shibata's facial expressions and gear really resemble Inoki too. Okada is the pretty boy with the Memphis manager, the LeBron James of pro wrestling.

It really is an incredible story. There are so many little details, it's impossible to really explain it to anyone. It's a beautiful match

Can you imagine this match in front of like a 2005 Ring of Honor crowd? Cheese and crackers, mate

This match makes me cry for a shoot if I try and watch it

That's pro wrestling

Keep in mind that according to Meltzer's ratings Adam Cole vs Johnny Gargano is a much better match.

>caring about meltztard's ratings

He's a good news source but I don't give a shit about his opinion and no one should.

I love Meltzer, even Meltzer says that his ratings are just his very personal opinion. Nobody cares, think for yourself

first 10 minutes are boring and people only like it because shibata killed himself

Any of the Okada vs Omega matches were much better.

a match so good i'd recommend anyone who hasn't watched it to follow shibata's career all the way from 2002 all the way to 2014 just to fully appreciate how good the match was.

The best part of the match is that the headbutt works really poetically into the story. Shibata was dominating the entire match up to that point, he very likely would've won if he hadn't scrambled his brains trying to butt heads with someone just as tough as him. It was his bravado and brutality that took him down, not Okada.

yeah but did you see how many flips omega did in his matches against okada?

This is so untrue it's disgusting

>thinking anything you said matters

>some Yea Forums weeb thinks stupidly ending your own career is kino
colour me surprised

is shibata the biggest mark of all time?

Nah, it was perfect in terms of build and story. If you need instant gratification go click through Youtube videos, play Fortnite or jack it to porn. If you want kino mandrama you watch Okada and Shibata.

No, he literally didn't give a shit about anything but regaining his own sense of pride. Didn't give a fuk about anyone else's opinion but his own.

>tfw this is the only match that made you cry

Best anime fight of all time. You wanted Okada to win, but by the end you wanted Shibby to kill that gook.

Shame she retired from porn

Your face is disgusting.

And whenever HIS young lions are in the ring, he stands there, watching their match, with kendo stick in hand.
Because they are HIS young lions and they will be the BEST young lions.
I love Shibata.

not user you are quoting
I love the match as well. I have watched it live. I will never watch it again. Knowing he almost died makes it better. As a memory. It is the second best match of all time for me. But I cannot watch it again, because I want to remember how I felt when I watched it, how I cried and wanted Shibata to win so bad, to beat the Golden God and finally be the one who will climb on that mountain and boots the fucking asshole down (btw I love Okada as well, he is the best foil for a lot of my favorites and without him they wouldn't be my favorites and I love seeing Okada win).
Knowing Shibata almost died, because he wanted to give the best match he possibly can? Makes it better.

Desu that's one of the most popular opinions on Yea Forums

Agreed. Everytime I watch it I see something new. A work of performance art even without Shibata ending his career.

Yea Forums has the best taste and bants, who woulda thought

EDrone crying over how New Japan fans actually have storylines to enjoy. Get back to your Women's Main Events, tarps and small bearded men trying to reenact our matches.

J3sus, Okada is in all three top spots.

i'm not saying he should have but that the context retroactively adds to the narrative of the match you dipshit

>mentions WWE out of the blue

this, I've thought about rewatching it, but the memory of watching it at 1:00am texting my wrestling bros was a perfect memory.

Nah, one of the things that makes this match unique is that right from the bell it's kino. Okada's big matches tend to start really slow, but Shibata makes every single thing that happens in that build up part meaningful and part of the story. It's honestly the best qualities of both of the wrestlers combined to make the greatest match of all time.

It's not because one of them dies halfway through.

It is however, the greatest proof that Okada is the single greatest wrestler who ever lived.

You are BASED.

It was amazing when I watched it the first time, but after everything that happened afterward, it's my favorite match of all time.

What Final Fantasy game is this?

it was shibatas final fantasy

Correct.

>Yea Forums dweebs think two gooks stiffing each other anime style is a good match

Agree. Absolute kino from start to finish. A modern classic

You dorky motherfuckers unironically need to get laid ASAP, you sound like fucking manchildren who cry at a Star Wars trailer. Incredible story my fucking ass, it's just two nips pretend-fighting for an hour and a half and one of these morons unironically getting a career-ending injury AT HIS OWN HANDS.
