Gedo built Jay up over the course of last year as a contingency in case Kenny left so he had someone organic and suitable characteristically as a rival for Tana and Okada to transition the belt between them should he have to take it off Omega in the case he would leave.
Those two quick switches and how seamlessly they occurred are demonstrative of his long-term booking and adaptability.

Beefs up every existing stable for long term Gang warfare. Entire roster basically becomes a gang/race war with Blacks shoved into New Day, Whites shoved into The Club, Hispanics into La Raza or some shit, Samoans into Rock's Relatives, Japs/Asians into Rising Sun or whatever the fuck that would be called, and an amalgam of races in a generic face WWE stable. Kofi, Styles, Nakamura, and Reigns would probably be his 4 pillars. Weekly shows would be filled with nothing tag matches. Women's wrestling would be non existent as they would all be valets or managers.
