I was a Smackdown kid and never watched raw during that time. Was Raw really as unwatchable as people say? Was every week just long winded Haitch segments? Did anything good come from it?
Was Haitch's 2002-2005 run really that bad?

This was peak Wrestling
Everything you heard is true. This big nosed cuck was an instant channel changer for me during those years
>Did anything good come from it?
at the end of it he killed Randy and put over batista. No one talks about his matches from that time that don't have HBK in them. People talk about how cool the IC scene was with Shelton Benjamin,Randy,RVD ,Jericho and Christian
The ratings plummeted with Triple H on top. Cena brought them up slightly for a few years.
Literally the raw after he got the strap the ratings started a decline they never really recovered from
Evolution killed the ratings and attendance in ways that were mystifying for that era. It's incredible to me when people have legit nostalgia for that group.
It was horrible. It caused me to start watching Smackdown exclusively until I stopped watching entirely
words can’t explain.
I was a huge mark my whole childhood so I watched both but this era worked me like nothing else. it went beyond him “just being a good heel” (which he was). raw was literally unwatchable. hhh basically just went over everyone and the main event scene was so shitty. just look at his title matches during this period. he wasn’t champion for that long but the focus was on him every week that that’s what it basically felt like. the only reason it wasn’t as bad as cena’s was because hhh’s got interrupted by benoit and randy.
>killed rvd who was more over than austin at one point
>killed and fucked up randy’s push
>killed goldberg
he made everyone going against him look like shit. they would never recover afterwards. look at how long it took randy. the only thing that redeems it is how hard he worked for benoit.
He was a great heel in that he made you want to see him lose. He was a bad heel in that he continuously came out on top even when it made no sense.
>Kliq's janetty is the only one of the whole lot that's a channel turner when he's on top
Color me surprised
Ratings were on a steady decline before Evolution in 2003. They dropped in 01, dropped in 02, and continued to drop in 03 and 04 steadily. Raw was good during 03 and some of 04. Even if you hated HHH's title fueds, the rest of the roster was stacked.
HHH's title feuds during 03-04 weren't even bad for the most part. The feud with Nash was actually good, so was the Goldberg one for the most part.
The shovel meme came from this period. His burial of Booker T at Mania was the most unforgivable
>never the guy

Not even Benoit's run could avoid the HHH effect when they put his ass in the midcard as World Heavyweight champ so HHH could have a main event feud with a retard.
Was ANY wrestling good from 2002-2005 aside from '03-04 Smackdown?
>so HHH could have a main event feud with a retard.
Eugene was based tho
Fuck off, Hunter.
tna was kino.
aj in his athletic prime was insane.
Pro Wrestling NOAH is considered great during that period.
chikara
>steadily
Well that's an absolute misrepresentation given yes, it was steady, if 1m a year is steady
When The Rock put over Booker T, Hurricane, Goldberg, he always do the opposite, put them down.
these few seconds sum it up
youtu.be
Yes
Yes. Yes. Yes. No.
Don't forget how he buried Kane.
GOAT heel still workin the marks 15 years on
Yes, it was that bad. Every Raw would start with a 20 minute promo from him. No, nothing good came from it.
Haven't you got a bull to be prepping, Pinocchio?
Besides from one or two good one liners that HHH marks bring up every time you mention him, HHH has never been good, charismatic, funny nor over. He's a juiced up no talent bum. The only impressive thing about him is that he works fairly hard and consistently over a long period of time but has largely been carried by getting pitted against and paired alongside wrestlers that are way more respected and/or over than he could ever be by himself.
He has buried more careers and stifled more creativity in the WWE than Vince himself, and Vince's feud with Austin was better.
Yes.
But 04-05 Smackdown was even worse.
>He has buried more careers and stifled more creativity in the WWE than Vince himself
No need for hyperbole. Haitch is pretty boring but NXT shows he has some sort of vision. At the very least he has a good mind for the business
>But 04-05 Smackdown was even worse.
nah JBL was a based heel and he made Cena
ROH
Why did Flair age like 10 years in 2002?
ROH
>GOAT heel still workin the viewers from watching WWE
fify
this
>Was Raw really as unwatchable as people say?
Yes.
>Was every week just long winded Haitch segments?
Yes.
>Did anything good come from it?
Smackdown got a lot more attention. Raw was definitely the B show during Gaytch's reign of terror.
>AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe vs Christopher Daniels
>Kenta Kobashi vs. Samoa Joe
>KENTA vs Yoshinobu Kanemaru
>Kenta Kobashi vs Kensuke Sasaki
>Punk being good for once in ROH
yeah it was an alright year
Why am I supposed to be impressed by a guy redoing almost the exact same storylines from the indies? Like everything he's been credited with from that aspect was done 3 to 5 years ago elsewhere around the world.
First time reality set in he wouldn't truly be able to retire with how much money he owes and actually needed the business. No matter how much guys love it and still want that rush it's a bitch when that realization hits.
NXT is third rate in all aspects compared to the salad days of RoH or even early TNA.
TNA was never good
when TNA was basically RoH with extra money for a year when it started it was great.
Still better than NXT and it has continously been better than WWE since 2004.
lol
>it has continously been better than WWE since 2004.
this is what loltna fags actually believe
Ya simp it was the best thing on TV at the time, Evolution was James-Bond levels of Badass. You probably wouldn't know and I'm glad you stick to Simpdown, The A show is where the big boys play bubba
This leave the vanilla midgets on simpdown
As a kid i thought raw was the b show coz of how bad it was compared to smackdown during that era
>Sabin, Joe, kazarian, styles, Daniels, williams
Jesus those matches were based
Lmao dude if you typed/copied all that to make me Disapprove of Haitch, Its working the other way, I actually didn't like him very much but he's pretty based after reading all this. He's like Alan in two and a half men. Based. My role model from hereon. Thank you for your pasta
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Batista's push to the top.
>Failed twice to have a "classic" wrestlemania match with Taker
Thrice
Hi hunter, nice damage control
everyone whines and cries about WM19 to this day but what HHH did to Randy Orton was a million times worse.
Orton would be the unquestioned #1 guy in the industry today and through the PG era but for 4 months HHH mercilessly buried him to the point he had to leave comeback and rebuild his character.
not to mentioned the promos , 25 minutes every week of HHH ranting and raving to open raw for 2 years at least 2-3 backstage skits a week and a 30 minute main event that always ended in a fuck finish.
ROH and TNA
>Was Haitch's 2002-2005 run really that bad?
Yes
>Kliq's janetty
I thought that was X-Pac
X-pac is cool af much better than triple nose
His original DX run was good he's honestly got Shawn Michaels to thank for helping him get into the spotlight. More impressively, after Shawn left, he was able to keep the ball rolling with DX. It's when that corporate dx started it started going down hill.
>hes like this cuck I love from some shit sitcom
yeah thats a yikes
Lol those comments. Based.
Yeah it really was that bad. I stopped watching in this time frame and I'm obviously not alone.
The thing is back then I was pissed because I still gave half a shit at what was happening to my favorite TV show. Now looking back it's actually funny how shameless it all was.
>Hunter buries Booker at WM with a really long 3 count in a storyline he basically had to lose in
>"But we have to keep him strong so it means more when he puts over Goldberg at Summerslam!"
>Summerslam comes
>also beats Goldberg
You mean quickly join up with the hottest tag team to further leech of people than can get over naturally like he did his whole life
It wasn't bad at all. He was a heel, you're supposed to hate his guts and faggots can't tell when they're being worked. In fact he's the best heel of all time.
Haitch had X-Pac heat
>More impressively, after Shawn left, he was able to keep the ball rolling with DX
That's not how I remember it. Guys like NAO kept it fresh for while but it was mostly cringe that was outstaged by Austin and The Rock.
youtu.be
Worked. You do realise people were cheering when he went over botchberg and Steiner?
He made people change the channel, that makes him a shit heel
The only good thing about Triple Nose was the jumping knee he stole from Harley Race.
The matches were great but him winning by cheating or some other stupid shit got annoying.
Should have dropped the title to Booker T.
Should have dropped the title to RVD (but we got One Night Stand later so that worked out).
Stick to disney movies because you got worked, kid. Haitch played you like a fiddle and you begged your mommy to change the channel cuz the bad man was burying your favourites.
Wow, what a good heel, being a literal anti-draw.
Heels don't need to draw dumbass, it's not their job. They are only there to get their comeuppance.
>works 8 million people into never watching wrestling again
wow, based....
HHH is legit the best heel I ever watched live. I remember going to a house show as a young teenager back in the 90s and watching him make this 400 pound fat fucking spic lose his mind and try to jump the rail. Which is still one of the most impressive things I've ever seen live.
That said, he was never the cool guy in DX. He was always a knob. Once he became the boss' son-in-law and once WWF didn't have competition anymore, he was unwatchable.
It's funny to me that "B+ Player" is such a heavy insult meme in WWE consider HHH is the textbook definition of that.
Dipshit, an anti draw is someone who counter acts the drawing that someone else does. When Triple Nose shows up, I change the channel. It doesn't matter if Jesus Christ himself comes down and saves the soul of whoever's still watching, I don't see it.
>omg I hate this guy, it's almost like he's playing a villain someone I despise so much I can't wait to see him lose to my favourite hero
Worked, every, single, time, baby.
Seething
>no he's a bad heel because I change the channel because I hate him so much
>I swear I'm not being worked
This. When I knew nothing about wrestling I legit thought Smackdown was supposed to be the A show because it was always more lit compared to RAW from 2002-07.
>people changing the channel and ratings dropping somehow doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong
based illiterate retard.
It's both. He works me, and works me into not watching WWE or supporting it financially.
BASED Haitch working the ratings into freefall.
Blaming Haitch for the ratings drop just tells me how much of effective heel he was at the time. Did you also blame him for when you stubbed your toe?
>blaming the top man in the company for a ratings collapse
Yes user that is how wrestling has worked from day 1
they all looked so cool
>Seething into the abyss
You're already in the hole, sport, stop digging.
Has there ever been a time during brand splits where Smackdown wasn’t the superior show? Raw always seemed to be the shit Vince was forcing on you, whereas on Smackdown everything was happening organically. Even as a kid it felt this way. Cena, Hardy, Eddie, Rey, and more recently Becky and Kofi all got over on the supposed B-Show while Hunter was stroking himself off on Raw.
>the bad man on tv is winning again, change the channel now!!!!
Stop crying.
Let it go Hunter. People hated Flair but they never ignored him. Being a great heel isn't being so boring your audience just fucks off never to return.
HHH is just boring, mediocre fucker.
Dumbass, Flair was around when there were actual top babyfaces. Not that you would know since you're probably 18 tops.
>you don't have cancer you don't die of cancer
I know it's a shitpost but that's the way it is, everything is always about Hunter, see how his segments go on and on and on. When you don't have a boring prick blocking the spotlight for everyone you can get over.
Yes Hunter it's everyone else's fault you couldn't draw when wrestling was the hottest it's ever been you fucking deluded faggot.
>the bad man is making me cry again, I hate him
>Wow the bad man really sucks at his job because I hate him so much
*audience disappears in your path*
what a top heel i am
>>the bad man is making me cry again, I hate him
>>Wow the bad man really sucks at his job because I hate him so much
Seething.
>Seething
Yeah. Everything you've heard is true. There's a reason Evolution got an anti pop when they returned. People who grew up with it were having ptsd attacks
Based
I think Haitch's 2002-2005 run was really about coping with Rock making it in the mainstream while he was stuck in the circus forever. The culmination was politicking Rock out of the company by convicing Vince to not renovate his contract.
Reminder that Paul wasn't just a regular top guy but he had total control over his character and a huge influence in the booking via his wife.
Actually I just watched smackdown instead. good times
Me and everyone else in my age group stopped watching around this time.
Yes. It's part of the reason I hate NXT, it's just Paul attempting to reverse his legacy by pandering to smarks.
