So we have to pretend this guy invented homosexuality in wrestling or what?
Even if he never explicitly did nothing on that area

he's not the first gay wrestler just the best gay wrestler
He plays the gay angle, but I'm not sure he is gay
This
>never explicitly did nothing on that area
Homos like to con themselves into believing he's shoot gay with Ibushi. He may very well be bisexual but he and Ibushi never fucked. It was all a work and people are still getting worked by it to this day, pretty genius tbqhwy.
Hes not actually Gay. Its a gimmick that caught fire so then he had to pretend that hes gay so he doesnt get crucified by doughy americans. If it came out now that Kenny was never gay itd end him.
He’s obviously not gay, he’s just working the reddit marks. He bangs joshi pussy in the regular.
this kind of spot is older than wrestling itself
it's weird to me because LGBT friendly characters exist, instead of this pandering shit.
Also wrestling always had this strong homoerotic component so it's not even a novelty
>this kind of spot is older than wrestling itself
so is homosexuality
I know its a work but how can you say he wasn't overtly fujo baiting with shit like this
In Kenny and Kota’s case it isn’t weird. It’s fun, cute, qwuirky, and even creative. A weird LGBT character is Finn Balor. Absolute peak of cringe faggola in the wresting biz
He's a bi person who put together a compelling storyline that can be read as queer representation without being stupid fake queer representation (hey guys Dumbledore was gay) or obnoxious shoved down your throat queer representation (anything Anthony Burch has ever written). And he managed to tell the story in a compelling way over the course of 10 years.
That's difficult to do in ANY creative art form, muchless pro wrestling. It's kind of impressive.
what are you even talking about? Gay gimmicks in wrestling have ALWAYS been a thing. At least in contemporary wrestling
wrestling characters are a reflection of certain social and political climates. That's why it's weird WWE has abandoned social commentary in characters and instead are going this "athlete" route and trying to legitimize the in ring work.
he's a white guy living in Japan he's 100% bisexual.
that was my point user...
Just saying this particular part of Omega is not revolutionary, special or controversial.
Gay gimmicks have been a thing forever but most of the time its used to get heat. Not saying Kenny and Kota were the first but at least they seemed to have some respect for actual gay people while exploiting the pink yen.
Bryan vs Kofi hits on stuff in the modern conversation but that's about it
Yep exactly. Good characters are more important than in-ring work. You can be a great wrestler all day but if you can't tell a story or relate you're going to get lost in the midcard
His story was more about being Icarus to Ibushi's Sun. The subtext is supposed to be malleable, to fit what you see in it. You can tell that all parties involved brought a lot of thought in each match & promo.
And surprise surprise, it was pushed by Bryan for this story. Not a bunch of writers.
Its almost as if wrestlers themselves know their character and what makes it work better than a bunch of office bound retards with an English Literature degree.
He did. Other things he invented in wrestling
>knee strikes
>dragon suplex from the top rope
>dropkick to the back of an opponent's head
>terminator top rope conhilo
>rain trigger
Very few people take homosexuality seriously in Japan. It is largely used as a punchline or for porn.
