No, they did it because they want the 'four horsewomen' to hold the four titles at the end of the show. That's all it is. They had no program for Asuka anyway, so this probably felt like the best way to make the SD title seem important. It will feel more important being featured (though not contested) in the marquee match of the show, rather than stuck in the middle of the show or on the pre-show in a throwaway match between Asuka and someone who can't hang like Mandy Rose.
