>WWE doesn’t allow unprotected chair shots. This is why so many Superstars will give up their backs for a shot from a steel folding chair. However, that wasn’t always the case. As it turns out, WWE might like people to think that it was always like this.
>Sean Ross Sapp reports on Fightful Select that WWE is going the extra mile when it comes to their archival footage. Now new videos that are being cut together are encourage to edit out the chair shots that used to fill some older matches.
>"WWE production employees have been told to edit out chair shots to the head on a lot of newly posted archived footage."
>This is more than just another effort to remove the old TV-14 aspect from their programming. By removing that part of WWE history, the company is editing from their records any action that they don’t allow now. It also makes us wonder what they might have left from certain classics that had tons of chair shots that would not be allowed today.
>It is unfortunate because they might be able to delete a lot of that footage, but they will never be able to take back the concussions and possible CTE that was a result of all those unprotected chair shots.
>risk sever brain damage to make the show what you think is good by taking a bunch of chairshots >it gets edited out in post so people who go back and watch it won't see the chairshots
I think unprotected chairshots to the head are stupid but this is also stupid and undermines the already stupid risks a lot of guys took back in the day
Connor Perry
What's the next step, editing out bikini matches? Getting rid of all content of Sable?
Fuck this entire company, they're all to blame at this point.
Jonathan Miller
So now Rock vs Mankind at RR 99 is a 2 minute match?
Christopher Richardson
Prowrestling truly is dead.
Congrats zoomers, liberals, and feminists - you won.
Ryder Williams
The next step is removing all AE and RA era matches and storylines
Nathaniel Rivera
>say something that is easily provable >doesn't provide one link or example

Based Vince working his cultists into a shoot by shitting on them repeatedly knowing wholeheartedly that they will never abandon his dear company no matter what he does. What a legend.
Can't you idiots read? It says new stuff being adding to the network. Not reediting all stuff already on the network.
Ethan Smith
yet another reason to own physical media
Jordan Harris
So wow every mankind match is going to be severely tarnished. Theres gotta be a way to try to change this.
Camden Sullivan
That's still bullshit

What new shit could they add that isnt everything thats archived. All unprotective chair shots are from pre 2010. Fuck that nonsense they are wording it to be misleading
Joseph Murphy
>being such a dibbling mong to not realise that's next
Bentley Martin
Since all of ECW and the attitude era are already up will this really affect that much?
Elijah Wright
>Fuck this entire company, they're all to blame at this point.
Interesting subject. You know I was reading about how charismatic Hitler was with the people he knew in person. On the one hand you had people llike Rochus Misch who died in 2013, who could not even understand why anyone disliked Hitler until the day he died. You also had people like his secretary Traudl Jungle, who died in 2002, who said "I admit, I was fascinated by Adolf Hitler. He was a pleasant boss and a fatherly friend. I deliberately ignored all the warning voices inside me and enjoyed the time by his side almost until the bitter end. It wasn't what he said, but the way he said things and how he did things.". All brainwashed by a thug.
Maybe someone in that locker room is wrestling's Hitler. Going around brainwashing the very men who form his enbironment. Maybe some thug who's all hugs and smiles to people's face but is totally different in reality. Maybe some parasite who lectures people on "rising above", talking too much for anyone to give him that lecture instead. Maybe some leech who pushed the dawn far back enough to bring a twilight on the other side. Maybe.
Blake Evans
Imagine having to read all of that lol
Jeremiah Campbell
>HITLER BAD cronge
John Perez
Don't give WWE your money, torrent the matches, stream the PPVs on cytube or taima if you're a literal homo.
Noah Hughes
Please don't ding-dong diddly ever respond to my ding-dong diddly posts again.
So how the hell are they going to show certain matches like Manking vs Undertaker or even Foley vs Rock? Just completely edit that shit out and miss the entire point of those matches?
Benjamin Scott
>Manking
Nathan Anderson
Sacrificing your mental health is dimes. You either get to be over, or grow old with your health. Pick one kid
Anthony Adams
Do they allow Benoit matches on the networth?
Logan Martinez
Everyone worried about Foley matches don't understand that HHH hates the fact most people think his best work would be the garbage matches he had with the guy or any of those gimmick matches featuring that stuff.
Levi Ortiz
That's is fucking absurd
This company is getting gayer by the day
Kevin Edwards
Speaking of those two, they won't even show those two's signature move together in hardcore matches. That is some serious bullshit lel.
Dylan Powell
Based post man. Tell those zoomer zoom zoom shits ding dong diddly aghoiehaogiehnao ghejoa goiaoghog
Andrew Reyes
They do, but you can't search them up, you have to find them manually within each episode. Like for example, an old Smackdown will let you search "Rey Mysterio" or "Torrid Wilson" and it'll show you timestamps for their segmrnts, but you can't do the same with Benoit or the opponent he faces that night.
Jeremiah Bennett
lol that is some serious bullshit wow
Joshua Anderson
they should just remove the ring too while their at it
Adam Jackson
>"WWE production employees have been told to edit out chair shots to the head on a lot of newly posted archived footage." >simps on Yea Forums somehow interpret this to mean they are going to go back and edit already-posted footage

They might have wanted to do this long, long ago. Possibly before they ended up in a massive lawsuit over brain injury, considering you can see Mick Foley and Kane legitimately beat each other bloody with chair shots THROUGH THEIR MASKS, for only $9.99 on the WWE Network!
Easton Morgan
Taichi put Naito's head through a chair last month and Suzuki did a Chair Shot to the head on someone in one of the opening tags like the last show.
>cut out chair shots to the head >suddenly 70% of attitude era matches just end
Dylan Parker
>It is unfortunate because they might be able to delete a lot of that footage, but they will never be able to take back the concussions and possible CTE that was a result of all those unprotected chair shots.
basically saying "people can still sue you faggots for what you forced them to do, even if you stop Little Jimmy from seeing it on the Network."
Anthony Nelson
>forced You never seen wrestlers talk about this shit? They wear it like a badge of honor, it was likely their idea. If WWE didn't regulate anything it'd be worse, but don't pretend most of the attitude era extreme spots were suggested by management, they legit weren't that clever.
Carson Myers
This. Most of the bookers who do shoot interviews now usually say that the match concept and ending was their job but they left the boys do work out the details themselves. Like Savage and Steamboat rehearsing a match and DDP also being meticulous about how matches went down. Its only been in the last decade or so where only the top talent are calling their own matches. And it's only in WWE that wrestlers are such cucks.
Ethan Myers
If you listen to Jericho, reason why he loves being in NJPW is that booker is his buddy. And also said booker only gives wrestlers result and lets them do their character work however they choose. And when they get over he puts them in more prominent spots. He really doesn't care what you do in a match.
Colton Fisher
Yup, back to the vhs rips I go, lol @ ever paying for the network again
Tyler Thompson
The fucking STATE of this company
Connor Lopez
Aren't a lot of chairshots to the head already partially censored?
I haven't been subscribed for a while but I remember it being that the audio still plays while they cut the few frames of the actual hit.
Joseph Murphy
>We've been gradually chipping away at the engine that makes us run for almost 20 years by sanitizing in order to get advertiser money in the here and now, and this plane is threatening to do a nosedive! What do we do? >Sanitize more! >Oh no! The engine is sputtering! We have to do something! >Double down! Wait, I just hit on an amazing idea! You know how we make a lot of money selling our old product that was actually fun? Let's sanitize that, too!
Blake Baker
This is why I have an XWT account.
Fuck WWE and their constant restructuring of history to fit a modern narrative
Elijah Jackson
One guy kills his family, so we can't enjoy wrasslin' anymore? It was like 15 years ago already. Time to move on, Vince.
Isaiah Hernandez
People are still upset over WWII and it's been over 70 years ago. WWE will never let Chris Benoit death away because it will hurt their advertisers.
