I'm a NJPWfag but even I have to admit that there's no single never-before-done dream match worthy of the MSG. It's still gonna be a good show, fans will leave happy bla bla bla, but there's not a single match that really captures the imagination of wrestling fans.

Unironically looking forward to Jay vs Okada, I've yet to be disappointed by a big Switchblade match and Okada is always dimes.

Yeah of course the show's already sold out and in that sense, they don't need to "waste" a dream match to increase ticket sales but expansion into the US is a long-term thing. You want the attendees to feel like they've witnessed something special and return for future shows.
Kenny vs Okada could've been it even though it's been done before, because it's such a well known series of matches that people will feel honoured to have witnessed it live.
I have a feeling NJPW is planning to shift their focus away from their US expansion soon, especially with AEW around. That'd explain the somewhat lacklustre card for the MSG. If they wanna have a real go at creating a foothold in the US, then I'd have to say that this MSG card isn't a good way to do it.
