Every PPV had their own stage set
Blood
I always wondered how the fuck they did this for mania.
I'm guessing it's obviously edited throughout the night bit still the main event needs to be cut and beat sync with the song used while still trying to feature significant highlights of the match. All of this has to be done in like 3-5minutes.
I used to do Iron Chef editing competitions and even an hour of editing got me just like 30-40 seconds of a finished product.
Pyro
cameras shooting on video so when the rafter lights get on screen you see a little nostalgia trail
Women being allowed to be sexy and not have it looked down on
Video recaps of matches that Nitro used to do - Always loved Henan summarizing a match with two or three vid highlights.
Continuity in story lines
Characters that have defined goals and go through a story to achieve them
Blood when needed, like Becky/Nia
Only needing one or two (if it's a big match) finishers to win
My dumb ass don't get it. Any video to illustrate what you're talking about??
They had a team of people who actually knew what they were doing. It also helps that the product back then was pretty high energy from start to finish so you could just get a chair shot or someone getting fucked with a trash can and slot it in anywhere to fit the song.
I always thought a team would've made it even more difficult since now you essentially had to collab with others for a product that had to be complete in about 3 minutes. The fucking quality of these highlight packages considering how quickly the last match would've had to be cut is just fucking unreal.
They probably contract out to the same team that does Super Bowl packages post-game
>smackdown fist
All of the above plus "not having camera cuts every half second".
The smokey aura left from the pyro
This. I can't believe those lazy fucks didn't break out the fist pro SD 1000.
>No iconic, fondly-remebered aspect of this particular brand for you, please enjoy Evolution
All the stuff's been mentioned like pyro, flash photography, sets etc but it's all down to how they made it seem like a proper show and spectacle. Losing those things makes it seem way too sterile and boring.
evolution wasnt even on smackdown
Actual titantrons, not just static screens.
