are observer-drones shoot retarded? Even Naito's pity reign was better

all wrestling fans are faggots. its just that the NJPW ones are more niche so they act all high brow towards us E-chads when in reality they are the same trend riding, dick slappin', wife sharin', simpin' sons of bitches

>are observer-drones shoot retarded? Even Naito's pity reign was better
You'll notice all of Dave's favorite stuff won - it's because WONdrones follow Dave like a cult leader. Whatever he says is gospel and he's just a mark with a loud voice.

>>has the worst hebbyq reign in the last 10 years
That's not Tana recent title "reign"

Dave didn't like Gargano and Ciampa that much Yet won best feud.

how do years work?

Ok so 2nd worst

They're E-Drones.

>Tana's reign
Mercifully short transitional.
>Omega's reign
Six months of dire shit.

I really fail to see the argument that Tana's reign was worse, just on the basis that it was shorter?
That's why it wasn't as bad to wait through.

Short transitional reigns devalue titles and accomplishments related to it (see: The entirety of WWE) and at least Kenny put out a really cool Ishii match and the spots with Ibushi in the triple threat, in contrast to the absolutely nothing Tana brought to the table.

It's only harmful when it's done on repeat, and there was just a reign that last 2 years and elevated every single part of the company. Tanahashi being the bridge from a leaving Kenny to a rising heel Jay White is fine.

I agree on that point, but if we're talking quality-wise as fans, six months of largely disappointing shit, in which Omega didn't even carry himself properly as a champ, was worse to sit through than like, one month of him dropping to a hot rising heel.
Plus, the IWGP's in a place of prestige wherein a transitional here or there is okay. It doesn't need rehabbing, they've treated it well.

Naito is probably the most popular wrestler in Japan, andfinished 8th for Japan MVP. That tells you a lot about the voters.

His title defenses last year made up not even 5% of his work. It's wrestler of the year, not "title reign" of the year. His match with Jericho, his Golden Lovers run, his match with Okada in Osaka, his matches with Penta and Fenix, his G1 Climax, all 'wrestle of the year' quality. You're choosing to focus on the few bad points he had because you don't like the guy for whatever petty reasons, but he had an incredible 2018.

Also: Naito reign was not better, he won the match in a forgettable match and lost it in a forgettable match. You don't see anyone talking about either match, while people are calling Omega-Tanahashi at the Tokyo Dome an all-time classic.

Naito was #4 in New Japan's MVP poll last year, behind Omega (#3) and his own goddamn stablemate Hiromu (#2).

They're fine in moderation.

Tanahashi's latest reign was all about the story and, once that story ended, they had the sense to move on to the next guy.

Omega was kind of the same deal, where it was all about him chasing Okada, then after the G1 they just didn't have much for him to do except warm the belt for Wrestle Kingdom. It just went on for far too long. It might have been better if they did the Dominion match at King of Pro-Wrestling so Omega's reign didn't have to be as drawn out.

That's a mix of who's over and who had the best year. White got 5th who only started getting a great reaction at the end of the year

It's almost like Gedo was going for the rain maker 2.0 so he had to do everything to stack the deck against Jay. Also Kenny didn't really leave them with much of an option.

*rainmaker shock

shit your shit filled mouth when you’re talking about the based ace you son of a bitch

Dominion is a super card in a big venue so they need marquee matches to sell it out.
KOPW is a B-show.
Pretty silly idea.
It didn't go too long, maybe you're too accustomed to rapid fire WWE booking.

Thinking TWO cawdy matches are better then a great match with Jay

>give annual award for mixed martial arts MVP to McGregor in 2018
>McGregor doesn't even know your name nor that you run a radio show
>McGregor never formally accepts the award and his agent says they don't accept fan mail

>Thinking Tanahashi's defense against Jay is better than Omega's defense against Tanahashi
Hey look, a retard.

1 great match doesn't make up for 2 extremely bad matches and one average one.

Taichi was been putting on better matches of late then Omegas title matches. It's fucking hilarious

>length of reign alone = quality

YOU WANT TO BE A STATISTIC OR DO YOU WANT TO BE A LEGEND

His title reign was shit but he had a great g1 and everything he did up until Dominion was great. Personally had ibushi or ospreay as wrestler of the year but I can see the argument for kenny

His reign was good though. Just because you have a hate boner for Cody and Kenny doesn’t do your generic nujapan elbow spam matches doesn’t mean he had a bad reign. If anything it was the best non-Okada/Tanahashi reign in the last 10 years.

Silly way to quantify things. A DUD doesn't take away from a classic. Goto having mediocre matches with Cobb and Taichi takes nothing away from his great match with Suzuki in the Tokyo Dome. Bork's DUDs with Roman and Braun does not detract from the classics he wrestled with AJ, Bryan and Balor. Every wrestler has peaks and valleys. Tanahashi had only one great match last year (against Ibushi) and I doubt anyone would put his 2018 into question, because the match was that good.
Omega will continue to enjoy critical acclaim from fans and sports media publications alike, whilst you seethe in envy of his success.
When the end of the year rolls around, I guarantee Kenny-Tanahashi will make a lot of people's shortlist for MOTY while Jay-Tanahashi will be forgotten to the sands of time.

Alright faggot's look at this.
The ONLY time Kenny drew a good number are
>Vs juice (the japs love juice)
>The dome that's been going up EVERY year
>Vs Kota a match 10 years in the making vs a match the crowd had seen before

Wake up Kenny was never a draw stop this meme

Fuck forgot the pic

NuJapanlets coping hard.
He's sold out Ryogoku (2016 G1 vs. Naito, 2017 G1 vs. Okada), Budokan Hall (2018 G1 vs. Ibushi), Osaka-Jo Hall (2x; something Okada-Naito failed to do and even AJ-Okada managed, BTW), and drew massively at the Tokyo Dome two years in a row.
Meltzer reported that entire rows at the Tokyo Dome this year and last were filled with foreigners. I very much doubt they were there for the Japanese wrestlers, and I very much doubt New Japan ever draws that number again if western fans are dropping off post-ELITE.

>Silly way to quantify things. A DUD doesn't take away from a classic.

Not him, but yes it does. If you're looking at the overall quality of the reign, you have to look at quality vs time held/defenses had
Omega had 6 months, 3 shit defenses and 1 great one
Tana had 1 month, 1 defense, 1 good one
Tana wins.

The G1 finals Drew well? no way...
Him vs Ibushi was 10 years in the making with a great under card Both Zack vs Naito and Juice vs Goto had drawn good numbers on it's own
Yeah no shit an Okada vs Kenny rematch will always draw good numbers
And from my understanding they have foreigner sections for WK so they wouldn't be able to get all the front row seats.

Nice goal post moving.
