Just so ya'll know, Chess is in a golden age right now with the greatest world champion since the 20s. Magnus is akin to an Austin or a Hogan, maybe greater. He's the exact world champion chess needs right now.
Just so ya'll know, Chess is in a golden age right now with the greatest world champion since the 20s...
Talk about a meme sport.
Dead meme just like boxing.
*gets beat by a computer in your path*
Oh look I memorized a bunch of different moves. Me smart.
Chess is only fun to watch when amateurs play. Chess is basically deconstructed at this point.
The computer chess autists nearly ruined the sport by pretending as if a computer playing the game was in a fair competition with a human. It isn't. It's akin to putting a driverless car in the Olympics and have it compete on the track against humans. Computers are not on an even playing field with humans from a physical perspective, which is all part of the game of chess.
Pretty soon I expect chess to have a new rule added which will be "chess is a game played between humans" to stress this to fools like you.
>Oh look I memorized a bunch of different moves. Me smart.
t. doesn't know who Magnus is. His whole career has been spent trouncing GMs who relied on memorization of lines. Magnus knows the openings of course, but he brought the game back to being a live game with creativity and guts, compared to the generation of book players like Anand that came before him.
"I memorised a bunch of moves" is basically all sports.
Boxing and chess are in boom periods sweetie
>jobs to GM kids in regular basis
OHNONONONO
be honest Magnus is like Cena. Just watch the interviews after the Caruana series.
Just punch yourself in the face.
>Every match goes to a draw
>Golden Age
No one gives a fuck
he's a bit like Cena in looks and personality, but in terms of his place among the GOATs of Chess he's far higher ranked than Cena is among wrestlers.
That's just the way Chess is. Think of a single Chess game as more like a single hand of poker in a larger match and it will make more sense.
it's wild how big of a deal Magnus has made chess here in Norway. last years big tournament drew 2.7 million viewers in a country with a population of 5 million
he is a certified draw brother
literally most boring game ever

got a link to one of his promos?
Completely agree. I know very little about champion level chess but I saw an interview with a world champ and he talked about how he and the rest of the best sits on the computer and plays some computer program with save states and shit all day. Computers made chess one step above esports.
>goes to a draw in the world championship just to fucking bury Caruana in the tie-break
was it all a part of Magnus' plan?
Absolutely. He knew he was not feeling well enough to win that game so he offered the draw as both a method to tilt his opponent, and as way for him to bring his superior gut instinct into play in rapid.
Chess sucks now since they started to rely heavily on engines. The game has lost its spark.
>Excuses
C O P E
>t. doesn't know who Magnus is
That's everyone, honey
Capablanca was a draw?
When you play chess you are bringing everything with you to the table. You are bringing your physical fitness, your nerves, how much sleep you had the night before, your breakfast, and everything else that makes you a human being. And you are pitting it against another person who brings the same. Chess is more than just "making moves".
Computers have nothing in common with this. They never feel nerves, they play at 100% capacity at all times. They never get tired. They do not compete fairly against humans in several of the qualities which a game of chess measures to determine a winner.
There is chess, and there is "computer chess". Two different games. Sometimes humans (foolishly) try to play computer chess against a computer. And lose. But that does not make computers better than humans at chess because computers are currently incapable of playing the game in a valid manner.
Yes, he was quite popular in the mainstream compared to other World Champions.
>Norway only has 5 million people in it
For some reason, I thought there was 40 million of you people. Damn.

Who was in the wrong?
Look for Caruana vs Kramnik at Candidates 2017
Was Tal a draw?
not a draw but totally based
The Jeff Hardy of chess

>Magnus is akin to an Austin or a Hogan
He's more like a super AJ Styles. A guy who can do literally anything, play any style at the highest level. No real weaknesses. When he's champion you just feel like all is right in the world of chess.
Is it literally the Most Anti-black Sport out there?
Only Whites, Asians & Computers Excel at it.
>Whites, Asians, & Computers
Forgetting someone, ding-dong diddly goy?
Makes sense since its possibly the least athletic.
>memorised a one handed catch while keeping your toes down in the endzone
what a pleb, a robot could do that easily
Not enough drama. is also a major turnoff for me. It's not really about being clever, it's just having enough autistic processing power and study-time to brute-force it.
there is one black GM, i forget his name but he exists
Maurice Ashley.

So Austin or Hogan? Way to have a self-defeating argument.
