He’s based at certain things but WWE genuinely doesn’t know how to use him. He’s had a couple of shining moments like when he lost to HHH at Fastlane or him winning the title before the brand split, or the night he beat down Seth. But all of them are failed with lack of follow up and dumb meme gimmicks

His gimmick when he first started was cringe as fuck but the new borderline silent badass thing is decent. Everything I've seen of him outside of wrestling makes him seem based a super chill though.

The Steve Austin podcast was super cringey, and came at the worst possible time for him, and he took a deserved hit for that.

But, overall, of the three Shield guys, Dean was the face of the group before they shifted the focus onto Roman and, once they broke up, Dean was the one who they bafflingly shoved down the card (until Reigns got popped, then they needed Dean on top for that time).

I think that's mainly because Vince was infatuated with Reigns while HHH was infatuated with Rollins. Dean was the odd man out.

Of The Shield, Ambrose was absolutely the best promo guy. To the extent that they just had Reigns shut up until the last line, and had Ambrose jumping in whenever Rollins was running out of steam.
