Others run the ropes just as well (Taker, Shawn, etc) but none look as fucking crazy as Brock does.

Funny thing is despite being one of the best ever at it (among many things in the ring) he almost never actually runs the ropes in his matches due to how they're laid out.

Running the ropes messes you up especially if you don't know how. When they first start out they have to learn how to do it properly and they're covered in bruises on their sides. You're essentially hitting tightened rope designed to take guys like Show or whoever hitting them.

They are metal cables pulled taut as fuck. All of the bending you see comes from their weight and the force they put into it. But some guys go full force and throw themselves full pelt into those cables.

WWE’s are rope.WCW’s were elevator cable covered in a rubber sheath. You can tell which are which by watching shitters walk/springboard from them. Everyone, even shitters will force rope climbing into their matches once it’s cable. Rope is better, it’s less uncomfortable when hitting it and it makes for less shitters flipping off of it, WWE chose right.

There’s one event from the UK in the early 2000’s with Taker vs HHH. Taker hit the ropes and they snapped, it’s pretty fucking scary. It’s not until you see that shit that you realize how much something can go wrong.
