It's a fucking SPEAR TACKLE. I understand you've never played a sport, or left your basement, in you life, but you don't do a goddamn flip when you tackle someone. Nor do you do a flip when you shoulder check someone.
I don't mind wrestlers flipping if it makes some level of sense, or at the very least doesn't actively violate common sense. Like if someone whips a smaller opponent into the corner and charges after him, only for the guy to step up the ropes and backflip over him. That, in the context of pro wrestling, is a perfectly sensible thing to do. The little guy used his mobility and acrobatics to avoid getting plowed. A shooting star press or moonsault being done to rotate the attacker's knees into the opponent, while anime as hell, also makes some level of sense in the goofy world of pro wrestling.
There is absolutely no conceivable reason to flip when attacking someone with a spear. You are wasting forward momentum that could have been applied to whoever you're hitting, and ending up in a worse position to gain your feet and make a cover or keep whooping the guy's ass as a result. It's fucking stupid, and if the Performance Center had one fucking competent coach, someone would have put a stop to it.
Him flipping for the bump isn't my issue. That's pretty standard selling for a smaller guy. I have a hair across my ass because the man who HIT THE SPEAR did a flip just for the sake of doing a goddamn flip. It's so fucking stupid I'm not certain it isn't a parody.
