Study up on your employer, they appreciate your interest.
Here's another sort of weird trick:
During the interview, picture that you've already been hired. Behave like you are already a part of the place. There's a reason the saying "fake it till you make it" is a thing.
Act like them rejecting you wouldn't even hurt you, a big guy like you has options. Bolee dat.
Lastly, if there's an opportunity to make a witty remark or a joke, MAKE SURE IT'S NOTHING CONTROVERSIAL. Stick to observations or puns.
Making a connection to your boss with a joke can increase your chances of getting hired. However, if you do the things I mentioned earlier, you should be fine without the charisma boost given by a joke.

Do something quirky. Not ridiculously dumb, but just something different. I took a chance and did something a little weird when asked in a group interview what skills I have. Everyone just said something boring but I did something practical, which wasn't really a skill (and failed it) but it got a genuine laugh. The manager later rang me and said 'I want to work with you, you seem like a guy I want around'. He then said months later that 'he hired me based on that quirky thing I did' and just had an inkling that even though I didn't fit the role like the rest of them, he wanted me around.
