Agreed. Trying to have long matches breaks kayfabe. Fights do not go for 30-60 minutes, and wrestling is trying to emulate fighting.
Matches should be quick and intense from bell to bell. Two guys looking like they actually want to beat each other from the start. The Brock/Goldberg Mania match is the perfect representation of how this should be done. 2 big men heating each other hard, with the crowd knowing that either man is capable of putting the other away quickly if they get on top just slightly. A lot of 45-minute matches could elicit the same reaction from the crowd if they were 10 minutes, perhaps even a better one.
