Because I saw it happen with Asuka. She was booked strong when called up, but never talked. Then she started getting more promos after winning the Rumble. Then that stopped after like a month. Then she never talked before facing Charlotte, or barely. Then she lost to Charlotte, jobbed to Carmella, went AWOL, got hot with a crowd or two, leading to TLC, then got promos again that didn't get over, then stopped, and she's been mostly AWOL since the Rumble.

I don't hear people consider Gargano or Ricochet or Black as blowaway promos, and with Vince's history against smaller guys, that's what saves them and I don't have faith, even though I think they're great, great wrestlers. The "Gargano to 205 Live" joke has been made numerous times before. Fucking look at Almas and he has a goddam mouthpiece that they either never use or have Andrade trying to cut promos on his behalf instead even though Zelina saved his career.

WWE is and has always been a talking-company first and foremost, and mostly, those are the guys and gals doing the most shit, unless Vince just likes you regardless of that for looks or family or because he thinks you're a draw (Flair, Corbin, Reigns, Brock, Alexa [who I actually like])
