Neither of these two would be stars if they started wrestling in today's wwe. Right?

No. Austin would have a horrible Festus-esque gimmick and Rocky Maivia would be an eternal midcarder,

Right. They’d stay as the ringmaster and Rocky Maivia

Right.

Austin would've been fodder for Roman's rocket push and Rock would've been Maivia forever.

Scripts ruin everyone
Rock wouldve stayed as Rocky
Austim wouldve stayed the Ringmaster or whatever the fuck he was before Stone Cold

Friendly reminder that Vince didn't "get" either guy, never wanted to push them and instantly depushed them when WCW folded.

He always wanted Rock as a top guy. The fans turned on him initially so they turned him heel to get over.

Say, could either of them get over in today’s NJPW or CMLL?

Probably
Too bad nobody would care

Rock would be fine as he has shown when he came back a few years ago. Austin would be nerfed to hell, he'd just be some random bald guy with knee braces, no fingers, no cussing, no beer

Austin yes, Rock no.

As weird as that probably sounds, Rock's move set had a lot to do with being hardcore during his rise. His finisher is literally just falling on the guy or falling over with the guy. in the late 90's and early 2000's there were not alot of Rock matches without props.

Austin's move set works fine without weapons.

They absolutely could be, but wrestling isn't the same as it was, so I'm not gonna say they would reach the same level of stardom as they did. But if guys with a fraction of the charisma like Seth can be at the top of the card, I don't see what would be keeping either of them from doing so.

Definitely

Not entirely true. He wanted to push The Rock, just not as The Rock. Vince also wanted to make Test a top guy during the attitude era. This may not be very politically correct of me, but Vince is a fucking retard.

Austin can do literally all of those things on TV today.

Find me a The Rock promo from the AE that could air today.

>Find me a The Rock promo from the AE that could air today.
He's already had like 3 runs in this era lol he would literally just be that

Austin could be. The Rock would just be Rocky Maivia for fucking years on end until he either killed himself or the WWE. See Also: Roman.

I don't know about Rock, you kind of have to be able to work worth half a shit to get over in Japan. And I don't know if either of them could really work well with Luchadors.

But a prime, healthy Austin would make NJPW more dimes than anyone who has ever wrestled for them at any point in their history.

The only reason Rock's comebacks haven't COMPLETELY ruined him is because he did his nostalgia act and got the fuck out of dodge. And even then, no one was a fan of Twice In A Lifetime 2: Electric Boogaloo.

If either of these guys had to be on RAW on a weekly basis, they'd be just as cold as every other dweeb that's on RAW on a weekly basis.

Rock would have kept his original face run gimmick

Just because Seth is at the top of the card, does not mean he's a star.

And instead of getting repackaged he ends up jobbing on main event with Zack ryder

They all assume that you already know who Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is.

Do you think if some random faggot walked out on stage and for the first time ever yelled FINALLY I IS BACK TO ______________! the audience would just finish his sentence?
do you think he'd get the 4-7 minutes needed to cut a modern The Rock promo?

His modern promos do not stand alone, they wouldn't make him a star.

Without the Attitude Era he probably wouldn't have gotten the movie deals based on his college football career alone. Dwayne has a lot to owe to the fact that all of the powers that be in WWE mentored and groomed him from the start.

Pre-Neck Break Austin could've easily done NJPW.

Rock has always been painfully mediocre in the ring so he wouldn't be skilled enough to make it in NJPW and his mic-work wouldn't translate in CMLL

The Rock was animated enough were he could tone his language down a bit but be the exact same character that got over

Pre-Austin neckbreak DID do NJPW.

He wrestled in th G-1 against Arn as a rookie

you're retarded. a superstar who drips charisma like heel rock would show their colors with even 2 minutes or less of mic time. That's the reason they got mega famous in the first place, they have mega personality every time they talk. Someone who is a savage on the mic like rock or austin can stream a good promo at any moment and that is why they are special

>drips charisma
when you use phrases like this, I know i don't need to read the rest of your post because you've outed yourself as a redditor
good day to you sir

Rock would have never gotten over the Die Rocky Die chants. Austin would have been a mid-carder as the Ringmaster.

With modern booking, they'd have fought on the undercard of Wrestlemania 15 while the main event was Ultimate Warrior vs Dusty Rhodes.

>Stone Cold without McMahon to play off of and no JR on commentary

I don't even want to imagine this scenario

Yes. See Daniel Bryan.

Nope. There isn't creative enough writers to keep upping their momentum week to week.

Stone Cold Steve Austin
>No redneck gimnick
>No beer
>No bad language
>Not attacking Mr. McMahon week after week

At present days, Stone Cold would be Luke Gallows or something like that

>The Rock

The Miz with better in-ring performance. Mid-carter

But we should be honest. At the present days WWE, nobody is a draw. Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman or AJ Styles are midcards in a true popularity level. Probably, in Attitude Era, they would be something so big as these two.

McMahon is basically the worst Austin feud and complete watered down piss humor for plebs. He was much better before that against Hart, Pillman and Shawn.

The Rock would do just fine in New Japan. He's charismatic, he's solid enough in the ring, and he's bigger and taller than anyone on the roster so he'd have presence.

dumb simp
