Are you using a browser plugin? If it's a spotty one like VDH go into the options and see if it's fetching and attempting to aggregate the streams but fails. Codecs are fucking weird.

i'm using the plugin flash video downloader to just get the source of the .m3u8 file and then using ffmpeg to rip a .ts file off of that
other than what i just said, i have zero idea how any of this shit works so will have to find a way to un-retard myself, if someone else can confirm they are still able to get video off the site with sound i'll just keep plugging away until i figure it out

so need to download best quality video and best quality audio which is audio0, can find these .m3u8 paths in the network section of inspect element - easy enough to just use vlc to 'open network' and save them from vlc..
then ffmpeg has a function to replace the blank audio from the video file with the actual audio in the audio file
