I played through this recently and while I loved it back in 05, it doesn't stand the test of time. Once you get through the village, the stages become more and more uninspired, just bland castles and corridors, it loses the sense of mystery and urgency that the first section of the game had.

Best art, best sprites, best soundtrack. Every character had their own stage and theme song that wasn’t just a rehash of an old theme. Didn’t rely on old SF characters and tried to introduce new people to move the series along. It’s a crying shame it was a commercial flop because people only want the same damn SF characters over and over.

Haha well you aged yourself with that kiddo, when it first came out I fucking hated it, the close over the shoulder 3rd person mixed with it's controls make it shit and it didnt really get better until the HD versions 6 fucking years after it's release. the textures on the orinialGC and PS2 versions are shocking it';s a blurry/foggy mess.
