So i was born early 80's and stopped watching wrestling late 93, I watches bits of the AE (preffered Nitro desu) and I tried to watch bits of WWE over the last few moths but it's just a soap opera with peopel i've never heard of that I cannot take seriously (too small)
seeing this gave me so much nostalgia there really is something to be said about larger than life characters and the big men they used back then. Maybe Wrestling just had it's time and place and it will never get it back.
Lots of people talk down to kids/newbs about how great and big the AE (MN Wars) were but belioeve me the mid to late 80's wrestling was fucking huge it was everywhere it was part of mainstream pop culture.

Take it from someone who was actually a kid when DX was around. They were always meant to be funny. No kid I knew was ever seriously unironically doing that suck it chop gesture with a serious face. We liked DX because the hype promos (usually from new age outlaws) and because they were edgy. The DX chop was just an edgy cool thing to do. Nobody was ever taking the DX serious even then. I'd imagine these days guys around my age and older just like to nostalgia for DX because it was a sign of not just where wrestling was but even a sign of the times. DX today could never even be thinkable in such an era as today if it were never a thing then. No way would WWE touch such a gimmick with a ten foot pole. That is why DX also gives me nostalgia for a time period that was better than the shit one we all currently live in.
