How hard is it to get a job being a writer for WWE? Or working with WWE Creative? judging by the content they are either short on writers, or there was a strike we didn't know about or they are hiring younger kids who aren't really interested in the show or were too young to remember what made wrestling great in the 90s-early 00s
I imagine you probably need a degree of some sort right?
Whoever they're hiring, they know little to nothing about wrestling.
James King

well that's the thing I was curious about, the dialogue is pretty flat lately. and if it's not flat it's super over dramatic and not in a good way. I just started school and was debating if it was worth attempting to go for it. I DO know they ask you to move to Connecticut to hands on with Vince and all of them. But i can't imagine what degrees you'd need, maybe writing? Theater? Journalism?
Dominic Evans
jesus Christ this actually makes a lot of sense though, It was probably way easier back in the day to get passionate people involved. Nowadays it's probably a bunch of millinial art majors who don't care or even watch wrestling.
Jackson Reed
Ding ding ding. A winner is you.
James Howard
From what I understand the turnover is high because job satisfaction is low.
Grayson Carter
I'm sure the writers have some kind of passion for pro wrestling. If WWE isn't hiring people with such then they have a bigger problem then we can imagine.
Im sure the writer's have good ideas but probably all get stoned walled. They have a lot of variables. Just look at them writing up the May Young Classic. A simple header for the event and Snickers Candies Sponsor proceeded to push WWEs shit in over it.
Not to mention they are writing for a PG program which is basically Sesame Street. Honestly what do you want WWE to do? This is as good as its ever going to get. If it could of it would of changed by now after all these years but its not going to. This is WWE for you.

Serious question: do forums/BBSes count, including anonymous ones and above all Yea Forums? Will it still benefit your chances if it's replete with criticism of WWE and wishes of a career-ending and potentially life-threatening injury on a certain Syro-Canadian employee of theirs?
Daniel Nelson
Sesame Street is G. PG is Nick at Nite.
Jeremiah Nguyen
Fabulous Moolah Battle Royal, not Mae Young Classic.
Carter Barnes
It says professional writing, so no.
Elijah Campbell
well yeah no shit, WWE should be hiring a bunch of marks from Yea Forums instead of people with "degrees" and "Jobs". WWE really needs to get the fucking weirdo trailer trash misfits back into the game. They are what's missing.
Based on the multiple interview. You got to have some background in tv or be a wrestlers kid also you will start out as a writers assistance getting coffee for the boys.
Adrian Russell
It is professional writing. They added meme to the dictionary and made it word of the year for a reason.
Jason Ortiz
If they scouted out writers on Yea Forums the end product would be pure fucking dimes.
Jayden Smith
You know that might have been possible years ago when Chris was still slightly human, now he's just so far gone. We need to meme him into a shrinks office.
Yeah for sure, it's so crazy to me that a company like WWE has so many rules and degrees and YEARS of professional writing for shows and theater and all that. The show would be A LOT looser if they went for more freelance (I hate using this word) but edgier writers like I bet in the 90s they were hiring all kinds of drug addicts and weirdos and creative types. Nowadays it's probably young art students and shit.
weird age we are in, I bet you can't even smoke cigarettes in the writers office any more.
Brandon Adams
Vince McMahon is ultimately responsible for everything that you see on the screen not the writers. Hopefully when HHH/Steph take over, they hire someone else to be a "showrunner" instead of themselves but I would not hold my breath.
Samuel Watson
HOOOOOOOOOOONK
Connor Edwards
Vince is a creative genius, and nobody can deny that. The man built an amazing empire and memes aside you can't take that away from him.
But that being said, I do agree that he might be just running out of ideas. Well you can't "run out" of ideas, but I think he's just at a point right now where he's done everything and he can't top the old stuff because the audience is too sensitive and he can't be TOO out of the box with gimmicks because Kayfabe is dead. It's just a really weird position to be in for him, he's getting older, still active and still performing, still hands on and doing what he loves. But at the end of the day things eventually gotta come to an end, and wrestling isn't a type of show that thrives off of consistency, it's like a soap opera, the ONLY way they kept people watching shit like "General Hospital" or "Days of our Lives" is because they kept having to go higher and higher and more post-modern and abstract and eventually it just becomes a singularity and stagnates or becomes so chaotic that it's impossible to follow.
only question is, HOW will they end the show? Vince should end it with him waking up like it was all just a dream.
