What is/was your favorite kind of wrestling?

Do you like old school serious stuff? Hardcore? Kings Road? Strong Style? Current WWE/NXT? Comedy wrestling? Big spots and flips? Russo-esque short matches? Etc

I like a bit of everything like music.

Sometimes I wanna see two hosses have a fight (Goldberg/Lesnar at Mania), sometimes I just want some comedy spots from the prime Chikara years.

Remember that wrestling is a medium and there are genres of wrestling out there and you'll love this hobby all over again.

>Kevin Owens may be getting a MAGA-type gimmick now
Based Fatass

>MAGA gimmick for the French-Canadian guy

Back in the 80s when the audience thought it was real so it had to resemble a real fight not a choreograped stunt show.

If you honestly think 80s wrestling looks like a real fight you're more retarded than the average asp poster

more than flippyshit and finisher spam

I like most of it.
The things I don't like are:
>Women's wrestling (not sexist, it's just not as entertaining, there's an obvious gap in talent and they botch way more frequently).
>Overuse of hardcore (GCW, strictly deathmatch events, takes no skill other than pain tolerance).
>Squash matches with unknown jobbers (they seem pointless as fuck to me).

I don't see people's beef with "flippy vanilla midgets", it takes a lot more skill and talent to be a flippy guy that's fast and precise and acrobatic than it does to literally just be tall.
I've always enjoyed big guys too, but to say guys that are "only" around 6ft tall and 200lbs can't be good or entertaining is fucking retarded.

Maybe you should watch MMA then?

maybe you should read the OP ya brainlet

>flippy shit takes more skill
Agreed, but, it's still monotonous.

hey OP where did you get that pic?

Technical with stiff shit like Dbry Matches
People falling on their necks like Kobashi and Omega matches
Deathmatches

Also i really like to watch bad matches while on weed/shrooms, Khali matches are amazing.

I like old school shit, the territories were always entertaining

but I also like the old cartoony WWF during Hogan's first couple runs. It actually seemed like a "Universe" with it's own consistency as far as rivals and what moves worked and how many were needed and power levels, unlike today where the wrestlers are acting differently every show and there's 50-50 booking.

Brawling/hardcore is the reason I became a fan

Misawa's King Road and Gabe Sapolsky's ROH/EVolve are the best styles ever, prove me wrong

I liked it when wrestling was an off-the-wall media, where there was an air of unpredictability in everything, because it was sometimes slapstick comedy, sometimes gore-theater, sometimes sports, sometimes just plain comedy. An avant-garde playground of fashion, bodybuilding, music, acting and gymnastics.

These days it's just PG-play fights to sell merchandise. The art has been lost.

So, Attitude Era WWE then?

I like serious old school NWA. Strong style is cool as well
Fucking hate comedy wrestling. It’s never funny and kills the credibility of wrestlers who do it

I agree. Love me some AJPW and WCW. Honestly, ECW was pretty good too, even though some people here don't seem to like it that much.

attitude era wwe promos/stories mixed with old school ecw wrestling, tables, chairs, crazy spots etc

My favorite wrestling is 90s AJPW and 2000s NOAH. The super serious presentation with none of the stuff I don't care about, then telling some of the best in-ring stories in a way that's a lot more nuanced than just "good guy #3256 vs bad guy #6853" like in most places. I love 2000s ROH which is basically an American attempt at the same style, and I love NJPW's main event seen before that shitter Jay White showed up, I just think that they only progressed the style in a direction I'm not too keen on so it's not my favorite.

TL;DR: King's Road

ECW 95-97 was amazing with their characters and storytelling. after that a lot of it became too "extreme" for me as they had to keep topping themselves with their crazy spots

I just love flippyshit. Can't get enough. I especially love when two people, who like identical, flip and cartwheel past eachother for a minute and a half and end up right where they started! I also love to suck dick. Especially black ones. That and flippyshit just makes me happy :)

Wew is back up fuck off retard

Thats Yea Forums gimmick, right?

What this guy does.

If we are talking wrestling style, 90s brawling like Rock, Austin, Taker, Kane, Mankind, Triple H etc. with compelling storylines and their strong characters.

Bases

Whatever the live crowd is genuinely into. This is why I can't watch wrestling with American fans anymore, although the NJPW shows there have done pretty well in reducing the smarkiness so far.

Pretty much anything as long as it's not comedy wrestling or looks really fake.

Flippy, always flippy.

I dont give much of a shit about who can slap who the hardest, who can push who the hardest, or who can roll around on the floor and wrap themselves around their opponent the best. I just want fast paced, hyper action, that blows me the fuck away everytime.

B-B-But it looks fake.
Wrestling IS fake you retards.

King's Road

Cluster fucks

Royal rumbles
TLC and MitB
Elimination Chamber

King's road

I like mostly everything, the only real exceptions are deathmatch shit with light tubes and other stuff, and wrestling that's too comedic; the phantom hand grenade spot from I think it's either PWG or Chikara and Joey Ryan's original dick spot were mostly fine, but now that he's just built his gimmick around it with the dick druids and that chainsaw spot that he did like a week or two ago just make me lose interest.
