First one (1990) is pretty good for a short-term walkthrough so you can play it once and that's it.
3D ones are more story based so you can start with them, so just start with The Legend.
Also forget about they're all good part, I just remembered about the recent Kings Bounty 2 (2021) and it's a hot shit.

Didn't they confirm random generator is going to be there, just later down the line? I'm not suprised by that, though it is keeping me from buying early for sure. H3 also didn't have random maps at first, it came with AB afair.

This, Legend and Crossworlds. If you still do not have enough at that point then look into later ones (IMHO they kinda lost their charm after crossworlds and were milking it, more of the same deal but not always better)

Problem with Liberation is they evidently did not want to make the kind of game Disciples series was. So you have an even hybrid of cherry picked bits.

Why would you go on the internet and tell lies? RMG already exists in the game. If you go into the map editor, you can make a random map. It's in the early phases, probably needs to be ironed out, but it exists. So there's zero reason to believe that they won't fix it up and make it better.
