This is when the game objectively stopped being fun and became artificially difficult bullshit.
>Fog that stops you from exploring the area
>Town full of invisible assassins chain stabbing you
>Every mob has more HP than your mid game bosses while killing you in 3 hits.
It's just not fun. I said fuck it and skipped the whole area going straight to last 3 bosses in Leyndell.
This is when the game objectively stopped being fun and became artificially difficult bullshit
filtered niohgger
git gud
I had plenty of fun
this section went by so fast I can hardly remember it.
Was this place before or after the floating tornado city? I saw a part of the map left of fire giant but didn't see how to get there.
This is the optional area that leads to the other optional area that leads to Malenia.
Just run nigga.
Every map has a second subzone, for example the weeping peninsula, except for liurnia. Why?
Nothing in the snowfield is even hard. Even the snipers.
Now the branches filled with rot, farting ants with rot, and a billion bubbles from every direction forcing a mad dash to the tree houses? That's actually bullshit.
Say what you want about snow and swamps, but trees are the actual devil in soulsborne.
>last Death Bird Rite
these guys ain't fun
I have not played Elden Ring and never will
Just use holy. Fuckers melt to holy like it's comet azur.
>Even the snipers.
>fast moving ranged enemy with homing projectiles
>more HP than the highest tier Night Cavalry
>kills you in two hits despite 2000 HP and 40% absorption
>can aggro more than one plus additional mobs if you're not careful
I have no faith whatsoever
Those little pots that you can craft since the beginning of the game do around 1k damage per toss before accounting for buffs.
They're pretty generic.
On my pure INT playthrough, I relished in every opportunity to run under them and bombard their shit with the Meteorite spell. Same for dragons, they get so utterly fucked.
I didn't even know they were a thing before the last one. Never ran into the earlier ones.
There's like 2 invisible assassin's in that town. And with then right torch they are visible.
There's seven of them.
Throw pots at them then. Pots are pretty stupid powerful. They can even interrupt waterfowl even though that bitch can just stagger cancel and stock her stagger damage to delay actually being affected by it.
Awesome area, better than everything after Limgrave.
Well shit. Guess I need to head back down there and kill that bitch. Thanks.
Snipers are only bullshit in the gaol cause you have to jump that one set of rooftops to get to the last tower. Everywhere else they're fine.
On torrent you can just cut back on 45s when it gets close to you to break tracking, or just roll at homing projectiles and they go through you.
You sound like a viglet, also that fog is only for like the first 15% of the map. Fuck that stupid ice dragon though.
>What if we give this enemy 80% pierce resist for no reason whatsoever also he has no unique attacks but his stomps make giant rape ice clouds I guess lol
i dropped it here desu
>enter catacombs
>boss fight is ulcerated tree fucker even though they were never bosses before
>0 new moves
>find the spirit caller cave
>kind of neat presentation i don't know why the snails are summoning spirits but whatever
>boss fight is just two back to back godskins both of which i had already fought twice, wow cool
>another copy pasted dragon fight and i am starting to look at my phone now
i dropped the game officially when i saw the two tree avatars. didn't even bother fighting them. i just quit out and haven't touched the game since.
i just used the wiki and zoomed through the area lol
This is the area where I started being able to dual wield two iterations of the moonlight greatsword, so it's okay in my book.
>>boss fight is ulcerated tree fucker even though they were never bosses before
Man, what.
There's at least 4-5 of them as bosses.
with boss healthbars? that was the first time i saw that.
There are a bunch of dungeons with tree bosses though?
Shit, that grave you need the stone key to get into after the tutorial dungeon has a tree asshole as a boss. They alternate between holy, fire, and rot.
Yes? Man, you missed a ton of stuff if you didn't run into them, because there's a fuck load of those tree worms.
The literal first optional dungeon you pass by in the game has one as a boss
im gonna be honest, i forgot all about that stonesword gate.
>can only hold have shit casting time, worse than some sorceries
>all for 1/10 of the hp bar by the time you empty your load
wooooooooooooooooooow
>only the real MAN can take in his ass cock THAT big
Never understand appeal of souls gameplay.
Take any old console game with swords like gladiator or kinght of temple, add 400% damage for enemies and harsh stamina restrictions - here thats your new souls like, hot and exquisite, 79.9, sir.
Ordina is great, wish there were more areas like that, a nice little safe town but also containing an interesting challenge. Only wish it had some proper NPCs.
The fog stuff is only in like the bottom third of the map.
>shit casting time
???
You literally just throw them. They're throwing items.
If you can't push through the hard times, you don't deserve the good times!
nigga you cannot be serious
Would have been cool to get a little dialogue from the Albinaurich archers. They'd just be the spirit forms so it circumvents the worry that players will even accidentally murder all the friendly NPCs, and we've seen with Blaidd that it is entirely possible to talk with someone who is locked inside an Evergaol.
kys scrub
Just means no attack spamming and you're not a sponge anymore.
You can hold 20 holy pots, they consume no FP, holy pots specifically have a huge damage multiplier against Death Birds, faster to throw than fireball incantations.
atheists stay getting btfo by deathbird
I thoroughly enjoy these enemies. I like how they actually ran out of stamina on me a few times
I googled the location of the fucking bells
fuck them assasins
i liked it, very atmospheric
the mausoleum designed to surpass metal gear was charming
Need two halfs of medallion. One is with latenna, one is with commander niall
When I tried it did 600 damage against the snowfield one.
Is there actually a way to predict where the moving mausoleum missiles are gonna land? I just held run and hoped for the best.
The snowstorm is only in the bottom portion that has nothing in it.
I thought the invisible enemies in the town were bullshit, but other than that there's not a whole lot to complain about.
Idk why people thought enemies become too strong here. I had no problem with them. Maybe you're just under leveled because you skipped stuff
If he was a Niohigger he wouldn’t be complaining about being killed in three hits. There’s a lot of shit in Nioh that will oneshot you, especially early on and if you don’t abuse sloth talismans. OP got filtered, but I guarantee if Elden Ring filtered him he’s definitely a bitch who wouldn’t get past the fucking tutorial of Nioh.
It's going to be 3 months since this game has come out and there are still people complaining about this area. If you hate it so much why are you still playing it? You don't even have to go to that area at all unless you chose. Just play something else jezz ELDEN Ring isn't the only game to exist.
Consecrated Snowfield is great and way better than Mountaintop of Giants.
>blizzard puzzle that's great on atmosphere and doesn't outstay its welcome
>cool unique Walking Mausoleum encounter
>actual new enemies compared to Mountaintop's reuse
>unique evergaol encounter that has a neat gimmick of using a torch to reveal assassins or just playing lava with the floor; one of the few areas where enemy placement is actually a thing that contributes to an encounter where you have to think through your approach
>goes to Moghwyn Palace and Haligtree, probably best areas in the game
The only big downside for me is that I don't like the two dungeons there where they just reuse Astel for some reason and another there's just a Misbegotten Leonine with some legendary weapon.
>actual new enemies compared to Mountaintop's reuse
are you retarded? there isn't a single new enemy in there. mountaintop adds zamor knights, snowfield adds NOTHING.
>showed optional area
Retard
Albinauric archers are completely new.
Absolutely nothing compared to the Frigid Outskirts
>explore at night for better visibility
>actual walls to better navigate and at least two sites of grace out in the open
>Black Knife assassins don't respawn
>blizzard puzzle
It's a puzzle? Who the hell is summoning Dragonkin at me?
>See an Albinauric sitting at a tree and another patrolling near by
>Killed the patrol
>Sniped her wolfs with Loretta spell
>Now she can't move and I can break dance around her for hours if I want
Yes I enjoyed the rape.
>Very strong enemy is weak to FTH
>Drops a great INT weapon
Cheeky.
This
The almost no enemies in the entire area, the problem is that it's too easy and boring. The entire snow zone is wasteland
What about rannis plateau
The fog only exists for the first 10 feet or so, and it is intermitent. It's not nearly as bad as the Frozen Outskirts. The actual issue with Consecrated Snowfield is that there's fucking nothing in it. It's just a huge waste of space who's literal only reason for existing is to put a stupid gateway puzzle in front of the Haligtree. Everything else in the area is just copy-pasted from other places and most of the actual interesting terrain (like the giant tree area with the bears) is unused.
It's just one of those "We have a giant area of the map that we need to do something with, but we don't have the development time to use it for anything story-related so let's just jam in whatever we have left to copy from other places, which is why you have a fucking Astel boss and other dumb shit there. Plus a random-ass caravan for no reason.
Those guys were used as bosses way earlier, whereas albinauric archers are completely unique to the area as an enemy.
>artificially difficult
what does this even mean
Still better than mountaintops of the giants and Liurnia of the wasted fucking space
Liurnia is actually my least favorite area to play and it's not even close. Actual fucking slog
I died there only twice before reaching the grace and only because I kept running for items. Maybe you are just trash.
Haligtree was amazing, the only bullshit part was the western gate area but even that is doable.
I mean, I don't disagree. Mountaintop was just as dumb but at least it had a unique boss and some story element there that was unique. The only thing Snowfield has is the gate to the Haligtree, and that's copied from multiple other places in the game, and the only outdoor bosses are an Erd Tree Avatar copy and a Magma Wyrm copy.
I wish they did more with Mountaintop both design-wise and story-wise, but at least it's more than a glorified hallway to another more important location.
You are bad, pots are extremely good
Also, yeah Liurnia is an area that looks cool from above, but down on the ground it has very little going for it. It has some worthwhile visuals and places to see, but a lot of it is unused space filled with enemies who only make you never want to go there again (lobsters and the fucking spirit archers).
OP here. I actually cleared Nioh and I loved it. Elden Ring sucks in comparison.
Nioh was fun but I don't think i really enjoyed any of the boss battles or the copy-pasted mission structures
