if you dont like the combat then you should know that 4 and 5 are very close to how 0 felt, and 6 is basically kiwami 2.

you can just jump to LAD and it kinda spoils a major thing from 6, its like 90% standalone so you will be able to enjoy its just fine, but in my opinion its still worth going through the other games in order.

It's probably because there's only one Ichiban game so far compared to an entire saga for Kiryu but I couldn't feel any sort of attachment of emotion towards the characters in Y7/LaD in comparison to some from the Kiryu saga.

I know there's a charm in the cute underdog character that wins with friendship and the thought of an RPG with a bunch of tired boomers is really charming but it didn't quite capture me the same way some of the Kiryu games did. Maybe the next game. I loved Judgment though.

I liked Ichiban and his friends a lot and it was only really the parts of the game that focused on their friendship that I found engaging honestly. The other characters were just ok. Kiryu's supporting cast is very hit-or-miss depending on the game for me.

When i think about it now looking back it's kind of brave of Sega.
