Malenia has low poise in general, but Blasphemous is very very powerful. Barring bleed it's probably one of the most powerful weapons in the game if you build right. Also I think if more people understood how easy it is to stance break her they wouldn't complain as much.

Dying Light 1 had that exact problem too. The game basically breaks when you unlock the ability to throw zombies that grab you to the ground.

The problem is that this would be the inverse of a sweetspot in a souls game. The melee build style either favors tank machines with big ass weapons to make use of poise or fast dexfag hitters. Unless the greatsword has some particular quirk to make it worth it like hollowslayer had, the weapon class is going to waste for not making full use of a build's optimal playstyle

I didn't even use that weapon on my first playthrough. I got it but left it sitting there. I used dual magna blades.

Its great for basic pve favoring low fth investment. All the basic exploration buffs with a solid weapon makes for easy exploration.

The last invasion is in the snow area but you can do that right after Morgott. Also don't forget about patches because he gives you one too.

RoB is way more easy mode though. Greatswords suck in Elden Ring, meanwhile Katanas are the best they've been since DS2.

greatswords are (unfortunately) the sweetspot for powerstanced jumping L1 spam which is one of the best and most braindead ways to output damage in elden ring

Everyone understands this. However Malenia doesn't play by the rules and can randomly jump out of her stagger animation into a start-up for any attack, including Waterfowl, and she also has infinite hyperarmour on certain attacks (and there's no way of knowing which attacks those are except by pure trial and error). So yes she's insanely easy to stagger but she's nowhere near consistent so even trying to stay in her face and keep her stun locked is extremely risky.

So did they nerf rivers of blood or whatever the fuck the name of that katana was? I think i 3 hit malena through phase 1, how is op weapon more powerful?
