Never mind the fact the fucking overview trailer is still only in Japanese, something that hasn't been a common thing with Nintendo trailer uploads since the fucking 3DS era, what exactly went wrong here? I thought it was odd they were dumping trailers for games further out from release than this game like Xenoblade 3/Splatoon 3/Fire Emblem, but now that we do have footage I kind of understand why. So who's to blame? Nintendo? NLG losing their magic touch? Did the acquisition of NLG factor in? The mythical mandates we're constantly told don't actually exist? Was it the director of the old Strikers games leaving to work at fucking EA? Was it Daisy not being in the game? Was it some exec telling them to make a more online focused game (which the trailers seem to imply the game will be) than a single player or even party focused game? What about DLC? Is it going to be like Mario Party Superstars and not get any? Or be dripfedpalooza like Camelot's Tennis Aces/Super Rush? NLG previously did paid DLC with Luigi's Mansion 3, so what if it does get DLC but it isn't free? I'm usually against revealing/confirming DLC for a game before it releases but they might just have to to convince anyone to pick this shit up. Why do we still not have an English trailer? Is even NOA afraid of showing us gameplay? Speaking of gameplay:
>10 characters >no Daisy >no sidekicks >slower than Charged >no unique stadiums >matches are 4v4 so matches will get samey quick with a 10 man lineup >no character themes >no mention of single player modes (even aces and super rush had a story mode, whatever your thoughts on them may be) >dumbed down character goal celebrations/entrances
To the people doomposting since the reveal trailer, I literally kneel.
This game looks like it was made in under a year. All of this shit looks like an early development build.
I was going to go an pre-order this piece of shit some time this week but i don't think im going to even buy it. I'll just wait and see how this shit fest goes.
I believe they did japanese only trailers for Mario Golf in the run up to release too. A bad sign!!
Lincoln Richardson
Wrong
Isaac Sanders
Its a complete rush job shovelware, because Nintendo has completely assbackwards telecommunications and can't work at home properly, and because asians can't stop coofing at each other in sardine-tier trains to work, theres a new coof lockdown every other month with them. Don't expect any new blockbusters for the Switch for the rest of its life
Ian Evans
No, I'm correct. The character demonstrations showing off their signature moves were all only shared on japanese social media.
Isaac Wright
>Most soulful and stylized presentation yet >Actually incorporating concept artstyle into game play >People still can't prove that it's slower than Charged, equips even make it faster >Actually balanced game play with a bunch of customization options >No more annoying gimmick stadium shit >Actually good looking multiplayer implementation >I can make a team with Wario and Waluigi on it >Music is still hard rock NLG goodness All this needs is more characters and this will be another certified Next Level Games classic
Reminder that what the fuck does Battle League have to do with the mandate
Blake Cruz
>To the people doomposting since the reveal trailer, I literally kneel. I mean, it was obvious
>it doesn't need to be fast >it doesn't need to be violent >it doesn't need to separate itself from other Mario sport games >it doesn't need to have sidekicks >it doesn't need to have Kritter/Kremlings as goalies >it doesn't need to have different stadium locations >it doesn't need to have spacious stadiums >it doesn't need to change the terrain type >it doesn't need Daisy, Petey, Diddy in the base roster >it doesn't need to have more than 10 characters >it doesn't need to have character soundtracks >it doesn't need to have impactful sound effects >it doesn't need the electrified skeleton animation >it doesn't need a stylized menu or UI >it doesn't need to show character tummies >it doesn't need the Waluigi crotch >it doesn't need characters to have personalities >it doesn't need good singleplayer content >it doesn't need good online servers >it DOES need paid, post release updates advertised as DLC
I warned you since day 1. The direct trailer alone felt way too tame compared to the previous games. Only people blinded by hype and bootlickers disagreed, now it's only shills trying to justify the game having less characters than a 15 years old prequel. I will remind you every single thread until the game release and even thereafter
>Actually incorporating concept artstyle into game play Are you perhaps blind? In motion, these are completely different. This is the last cope
Levi Smith
>it doesn't need to be fast it is >it doesn't need to separate itself from other Mario sport games it does that >it doesn't need to have sidekicks >it doesn't need to have Kritter/Kremlings as goalies >it doesn't need to have different stadium locations >it doesn't need to have spacious stadiums >it doesn't need to change the terrain type you're right it doesn't >it doesn't need a stylized menu or UI it has that >it doesn't need good singleplayer content the games never had that >it doesn't need good online servers the games never had that either but this one is more likely to have that
>the games never had that either but this one is more likely to have that >but this one is more likely to have that >switch online >good >... and PAID on top of that holy fuck the absolute state At least the wii online was free despite the issues. What will be the excuse to explain input lags and other issues? Will you cope just like in smash and Mario Kart threads? Fucking braindead sheep. You are part of the problem
It does though. It's literally the first attempt and closest you'll ever get to replicating the sketchy black borders, high contrast, animated posings and cartoon shading of the artwork. If you think the previous games did that any better, kindly neck yourself.
Even normalfags are saying the game feels tame and soulless kek, it's not Yea Forums doomposting but everyone. This sequel is pure shovelware
Jaxson Cox
My problem with this game is that, Like golf and tennis, they're going to give us some bare game and drip feed us free updates, or come up with a dlc later on
Cameron Walker
People who bitch about the menu never played the original
Elijah Peterson
Holy fuck KILL YOURSELF
Jaxson Stewart
Normalfags doomposting Mario Sports games is normal, and it won't matter because they'll still end up buying the games and setting new franchise sales records.
>people calling this soulless Content concerns are justified, but mechanically and stylistically, the game looks great, which is enough for me, considering how much I enjoyed playing basic matches in the original
Liam Peterson
As opposed to eating molasses covered dog diarrheaand paying for it. Yeah it was better.
You don't need to act like Wii's online was better just because it's free, user. They're both different brands of shit. Smash Ultimate's online might be awful but if you think Brawl was better because it was free you're either a zoomzoom poster who wasn't alive to witness that diarrhea pile or you're being deliberately contrarian. The sports spinoffs have historically been acceptable in recent times and I don't see that changing here.
The only thing I'll agree on the energy is the sound effects. I liked how kicking a ball in Charged sounded like firing a heavy firecracker into a rustic warehouse while this is more similar to the original Strikers. I think everything else is matched in its own unique way.
Dominic Ward
It wasn't better, that wasn't my point. But at least the price tag being 0 made it far easier to accept poor quality. The online will be shit on the switch and it is paid so the focus on the online shown by the developers of this soulless sequel really doesn't help selling the game.
Jose Bailey
this game is being made by Next Level games lmao. They aren't nips
Gavin Kelly
Where are the Kremlins? Where is the super team? Where are the other mario mooks as side kicks? Where is Luigi's salsa music and hindu Diddy?
Blake Howard
Even before a new strikers was announced I could have told you Kremlings weren't going to come back
Nathan Parker
excellent bait
Samuel Russell
Please explain to me how these are Mario Mandate casualties
The sports games have had some of the better online, nor is this game soulless. I'm sure you'll get a vs CPU mode just like in the other games though since you sincerely believe not focusing on multiplayer is the better option.
Nathan Nguyen
What the fuck is wrong with Nintendo this generation? Every single new sports title (including mario kart 8 dlc) has been bargain bin trash.
Mason Johnson
This is literally one of the best Mario rosters of all time
excellent non-attempt at refuting even the first question rip forever monty and hammer bro too apparently
Blake Walker
Only bad things I see are Rosalina waring leggings and no Pauline. Mandatefags on suicide watch.
Leo Reyes
A small roster has literally nothing to do with mandates. The characters missing from Strikers are Petey Piranha and Biwser Jr, both of which were in a sports games from a couple years ago
Jordan Bennett
So when did the schizos stop claiming that the mandate forced devs to use generic mario enemies instead of new designs and start claiming that the mandate forces devs to not use generic mario enemies.
I feel like there isn't an English trailer yet for a reason.
Joseph Torres
>People still can't prove that it's slower than Charged Now this complaint always seemed to be weird in my eyes, but you cannot deny that the gameplay does indeed look less energetic. The round circle following the ball is too reminiscent of that garbage 3ds game or the M&L games. It looks too tame, it looks like your average Mario sports game. >No more annoying gimmick stadium shit Why not include them but offer the possibility to disable them? (like the prequel did, 15 years ago) Is this kind of cope what happens when a man is so used to getting fucked by companies that he simply doesn't care anymore? >Actually good looking multiplayer implementation Yeah, good luck on the Nintendo servers. They will be as bad if not worse as the wii game, but hey this time you're paying for it so you'll pretend it's good to justify the subscription. >Music is still hard rock NLG goodness You mean the soulless track that used a leitmotif of the Charged sudden death theme we could hear during the cutscenes, or the fact that characters won't have their personalized theme like they did in a game released 15 years prior? >All this needs is more characters Won't happen, just like Mario Party Superstars got ignored.
Next Level Games lost its soul, you're either in total denial or too busy sucking Nintendo's dick to bother caring in the first place.
Jordan Ortiz
I would be willing to listen to mandate schizos if they stuck to their assessment about how characters like WarioWare characters or RPG characters aren’t allowed to appear in spin offs, but they go so far beyond the obvious it just comes off as inane babbling. They’re actually calling Bowser Jra mandate character now?
Noah Hughes
The image speaks for itself, you genuinely illiterate retards. A post-Mario Mandate game has a roster filled with generic mooks, so explain how the Mandate affected Battle League's roster. Oh wait, you fucking can't because you never learned how to think before shitposting.
Mandate schizobabble that no one understands still has no impact or effect on the gameplay looking drastically less energetic, and I'm not just talking about speed.
William Thompson
>They will be as bad if not worse as the wii game [citation needed] >You mean the soulless track that used a leitmotif of the Charged sudden death theme we could hear during the cutscenes They literally brought back the Road to the Strikers Cup theme and made it even better. The music is great so far, and we haven't even seen enough game play to know if there's character themes. >Won't happen, just like Mario Party Superstars got ignored. comparing Mario Party to the sports spinoffs which have been getting DLC consistently makes no sense and only works if you're doing blindless doomposting. If Next Level Games made DLC for Luigi's Mansion 3 of all things, they'll make DLC for this. >Next Level Games lost its soul The soul never left. It just left you
>A post-Mario Mandate game has a roster filled with generic mooks, so explain how the Mandate affected Battle League's roster. The fact that even generic mooks got canned because their personality in Strikers might have strayed too far away from their original vibe. They were full of life and personality in charged, now they aren't even present in Battle League.
Worst even, the 10 characters of the roster don't have personalized theme music. So yeah the mandate is in effect here. Cope
Nathaniel Miller
The mandate is always going to be in effect if you just change what it means on a per game basis. It would just be easier to admit Tanabe is shit at his job and that is why Paper Mario sucks.
Liam Flores
Where's Kritter? kys bootlickers
Jackson Butler
>you genuinely illiterate retards >this coming from the same bootlicker dancing around the DK characters getting shafted even further It's going to take quite a bit more than a few mario party filler characters to fix your game from being a blatant downgraded cashgrab anyway. Not that the casual zoomer like you would mind, of course.
Isaac Martin
The Mario series is like the only series where is spinoff sport games have to rely on random enemy mooks and character recolors to pad out the roster because their main and supporting characters are just so pitifully lacking. I mean who wants to play as Mario but metallic or a plain old Goomba? it like playing as Ruby Knuckles or a Moto Bug. Say what you want about Sonic's weird friends, at least he has friends unlike Mario.
Matthew Martinez
The kremlings haven’t been Donkey Kongs main adversary for nearly 20 years at this point. If they were then maybe they’d be in this game. As it stands most of the kids who are going to play this game wouldn’t even know who they are. And Boom Booms design literally looks like it was made to be a goalie.
Nathaniel Hill
If only the whole game looked like this
Chase Nguyen
DKCfags deserve to be fucked over for rejecting Jungle Beat, aka the best 2D platformer of all time.
Parker Edwards
> The Mario series is like the only series where is spinoff sport games have to rely on random enemy mooks
Because Mario enemies are more iconic than the protagonists of some video game series. People love Shy Guys, Chain Chomos and Piranha Plants, no one would give a shit about sonic badnik number 36
James Allen
>It would just be easier to admit Tanabe is shit at his job and that is why Paper Mario sucks. So wait a minute, it's more reasonable for you to assume Tanabe, a major player at Nintendo, flat out lied and spat fanfiction during the TOK interview as opposed to believing that Mario has guidelines about how the series should be depicted?
>this coming from the same bootlicker dancing around the DK characters getting shafted even further what the fuck are you even talking about right now
Logan Perry
QFT
Jordan Russell
>Mario has guidelines about how the series should be depicted? You know full well that is not how you schizos portray the mandate when shitting up these thread don't even try.
>shitting up these threads OP brought up mandates himself
John Reed
DKCfags are mentally ill and think a game can only be good with the generic dkc enemies in it. Giant fanboys yet they call other people bootlickers.
Xavier Ortiz
>The fact that even generic mooks got canned because their personality in Strikers might have strayed too far away from their original vibe. user you are literally making shit up right now. All those same mooks get animations in the other sports titles and NLG would just have to build on top of those. Even the Mario characters represented have more personality than any modern spinoff or mainline game. If you're going to shitpost about Battle League at least do it right you lazy schizoids.
>All those same mooks get animations in the other sports titles Is this cope? Show me toad or skelerex behaving similarly as they do in charged Monty mole or shy guy, even. You are reaching hard
Alexander Butler
Eternal reminder that there are people who will defend stadiums being completely bland and soulless instead of having optional variety. These are either shills or shit eaters who don't have any standards
