Strong waifu game
majin is overhyped, JDCR underestimated him though
he choked but was 1 hit away from Grand Finals vs a bunch of koreans. Further than anyone besides Anakin
its more interesting to watch when compared to other fgs. also adding in noob autocombos and ragedrives makes beginners feel good about it.
but the main reason is sf5 had a terrible launch.
they're not really autocombos but some assisted moves nobody uses anyway
>wah wah give me bots to play against
they didn't cater to little bitches
Because I'd rather play Negan than half the core tekken cast
Get mad, stay mad
same but for leroy
Another one cooler than half the cast
Op wants raven and forest back taking up slots for nothing
>can't put bikinis on because devs can't be arsed to model more than one type of body
its a competitive game. thats the main focus and thats what matters
There were no 3d fighters when it came out. It just got lucky.
Literally because of memes.
That is why tekken 7 and all people around it are insufferable miscarriages,
What memes?
There isn't anything else 3D to play, despite how bad Tekken 7 is it's your only option if you want to play a 3D fighting game.
bass drop
everything aris
-city
smash
dont ask me for shit
super meme
i feel like i forgot 2 important ones. eh whatever
with coomer designs of course
sfv trashfire launch
shill pr
no competition
the fact it ended in a fart says it all
Well because Tekken is a brand. Every mainline Tekken game sold well, ever.
Best video games franchise of all time.
SHU SHU ONE TWO
>how?
Well because it doesnt have any competition at all because no one makes 3D fighters while 2D gets new releases almost every year basically? I know about Segas dogshit remaster of over 10 years old game that was given away in PS+ at release and its dead anyways or about Soul Calibur thats also dead.
as long as there is nothing else to play tekken will be popular. doa is a coomer franchise, sc got axed on purpose by bamco to push tekken more, virtua fighter is dead. that's all there is to it.
Tekken 7 is the SF4 sequel that SFV failed to be
2D gets new releases every year by Arcsys, and they’ve never made a good game before
Street Fighter has been “good for years” but still hasn’t recovered. It has nothing to do with 2d vs 3d.
People are just tired of the same shit.
SFV having the worst fighting game launch in history and Harada abusing the licensing of SFxT to have Akuma in the game at launch before SFV did. Tekken 7's PR was entirely based around SFV's fuckups that's why the game is as bad as it is nowadays, they just promised things and never developed the game.
>>prioritze esports over offline modes
As they should
>>cut half of the roster for DLCs
The roster was really sizeable for a new entry into the series, especially if you compare it with SFV and pretty much all games ArcSys have released
Competition is simply just that bad.
tekken literally recycles tekken 3 every gen with minor graphic improvements or worse, gameplay changes like screw/bound and rage were lmao
SFV ended up being better than SF4 and Tekken 7 is afflicted by some of the same issues SF4 had which is amusing.
You can see by the player numbers that not many keep playing. They got me good for sure with finally a tekken on pc officially but damn was it a dry turd after all these years of working on the arcade version.
Game released on PC finally and they did not spam 4(FUCKING FOUR) Tekken versions on the 8th gen systems so it time to actually sell.
this lmao

>sfv sells guile
>tekken announces legacy chars will be free (not)
>sfv has online problems
>tekken says tekken will have the best online of all time (it's the worst of its gen and doesn't even have anticheat or penalties)
>sfv gets blasted for the poor content
>tekken announces bowling mode and hypes up offline content (in game currency is useless, bowling is paid dlc, the game doesnt have character episodes, sells frame data, sells netcode ''improvements'' as ''offline-like'' in reality they just made the online even worse)
the tekken cucks who are still hyping up this garbage vaporware are beyond sad lmao even aris who was the biggest tekken shill for years turned on the game after they stopped paying his ass, only mentally ill tekken manchild like mainman are still sucking on harada's balls lmao

Tekken 7 got a pass by the fanboys because the FGC was busy hating on SFV's launch, pretty pathetic when you think about it and tells a lot about the FG''Community'' and its corporate shilling.
The weirdest thing is that ono and harada are gay buttbuddies so one shitting on the other like this looks so weird.
But hey both are great hacks way beyond their time that should just go away so the genre, ips and publishers can finally move out of the stoneage.
Those same fanboys who rabidly shilled Tekken 7 riding on the SFV's launch hate are probably kicking themselves now even though they pretend they're happy. Capcom got the shit it deserved and ended up addressing most of the issues people had with the game while Harada developed an ego after seeing how much much shit he got away with because of the western shills and never bothered developing Tekken 7 outside of milking p2w dlc and by the looks of things he's gonna carry this same attitude in Tekken 8 judging by how he's still damage controlling Tekken 7's awful netcode and the whole p2w dlc characters.
Stuff like tekken Force or the Volleyball from tekken 3 is unironically more valuable to me than esport faggotry
Smash quantifiably kept fighting games relevant after the SFV and MvCI undid all the momentum from 2009
Smash was never relevant in the FGC.
Because you are a normal customer. Not a fucking paypiggy fgc lowlife. Tekken 7 is such an insult to the series known for such packed content entries and then has the audacity to not even get the esports shit right by standards of 10 years ago. Shitty trash ass lobbies no rollback no crossplay because sony paid for it.
cope snoy
if tekken 5 came out on steam no one would play tekken 7
nostalgiafags are so funny
cope 18er
Its why I predict Street Fighter 6 will be good, whereas Tekken 8 will be a massive disappointment for fans.
literally 100% wrong here
>play T7
>seethe even when i win
it's over, isn't it?
with a great soundtrack
>tekken 7
>great soundtrack
LMAO
youtube.com
every tekken has a great soundtrack. 4 is peak tekken music.
Tekken is fun but it seems like AIDS as a competitive game, your skill level plateaus pretty quickly until you start learning the intricate web of match ups and other shit, and it's harder than most games with tons of memorization, but almost none of it transfers to other fighters. Going from decent at Tekken to good looks like the most tedious shit ever
how did early fighting games become so iconic? tekken was able to reinvent its style and raise the bar with back to back releases for the first three games. the entire rosters of 90s fighting games (tekken, sf, mk and so on) were instantly iconic around the early-mid 2000s all of these franchises started releasing shitty characters with no cultural impact.
eg. normies generally know characters like yoshimitsu, chun-li and kung lao and those characters are synonymous with their franchises. yet normies generally wouldn't recognise asuka, abel or jarek
>Kung Lao
>Synonymous with MK
Raiden, Sub-Zero and Scorpion are far more iconic.
But honestly, i dont know why they all became so iconic. Each of them were very unique and had a distinct style and type of gameplay they aimed for.
designers tend to be more passionate about early installments, simple as.
>early fighting games become so iconic
arcade culture
GET OFF OF ME

look, I don't dislike tekken 7s music, but I wish there was at least a little more variety
alongside unique and distinct styles, they referenced or used designs that were popular at the time, not just amongst gamers but general audiences (martial arts movies peaked in popularity from 1970s to 1990s), and they have time on their side as well; not as many people are going to care about the new main guys until late unless they're a hit from the get-go
why is kunimitsu there two times?
>every tekken has a great soundtrack.
not tekken 7
Juri is one of the most popular SF characters.
new kuni and her mom.
true
only season 1 menu and new poolside songs are good imo
