They had some good ideas, they had the people to make it happen, they had a lot of the groundwork already laid all they needed was to keep working on it but then George was like "hey guys I just played this awesome game that gave me some NEW ideas..." so old ideas were scrapped or cut down or deprioritized to make room for the new ideas until George again comes by and says "hey guys I just played this awesome new game...." rinse and repeat for a decade

It's tough to be a developer and realize you need to keep your dick in your pants. Giving in to scope creep is suicide. Finish your game, if it's good it'll stand on its own merits. If there's anything new you want to add, then you can make a sequel with it in mind. Or nowadays even just patch it/dlc/whatever. JUST FINISH YOUR FUCKING GAME ANONS

okay, samefagging to this, but if you can't get the night vision working, a good workaround is unreal's rendermode commands.

the command "rmode 6" renders without lighting, basically giving you fullbright

punching in "rmode 5" brings you back to normal rendering
