Good riddance. Watching Fei Long in SFIV was the most boring shit ever. Every Fei Long player played exactly the same. No one had their own identity or playstyle. If I ever saw a Fei Long mirror match in a tournament I went and did something else until it was over.

Steve's story would be kino if a) they developed the Nina mother plot point in a meaningful way in T7 and b) if they put some effort into the storyline with Leo's mother which would implicate Steve and probably have them team up together, but the writing staff only seem to be interested in Leo for xer forced gender ambiguity gimmick and tentacle hentai gags with Yoshimitsu.

Well lucky for you, modern fighting games are about everyone playing a character the exact same way and every character also being played the exact same way. There are at most three playstyles in SFV and at the ABSOLUTE most two playstyles in Strive among the ENTIRE cast

After Bruce Lee died everyone tried to cash in on his fame. There was over 50 poorly made, rushed out, low budget movies featuring people pretending to be Bruce Lee. From actors just trying to act like, to the movies having the death of Bruce Lee being a plot point where he is revived as the new actor. Some even used the actual footage of Bruce Lee's funeral in the movie. None of these movies were really respectful. So I can understand his family not allowing any use of Bruce that they can control. I am sure they do not realize Fei Long is a serious and cool character, they just hear video game and say no.

That said I don't think they can say shit about Capcom wanting to use Fei Long. If Capcom wanted to use Fei Long at best they would be able to take Capcom to court and lose, but waste Capcom's time with a scandal. Sort of like Sherlock Homes being free use but the estate that use to own him will sue anyone that tries to use the character without their permission. In court they will lose every time but most people don't want to deal with the head ache so you see things like the Phoenix Write game that renames Sherlock Homes into being Herlock Sholmes.
