Can a VN ever top this?
Can a VN ever top this?
is it worth going through the game with a max skill cheat just to see everything? I've already gone through the game twice.
nah nothing really changes. If you have absolutely nothing else to play sure, but eh.
I’m doing this right know and find it pretty interesting. Walking out of the hotel room on day 1 without the expression is kinda of neet. There’s also a surprising amount of checks and dialogue I’m seeing because they require skills from two different trees to be high to get them and they’re extremely early in the game.

How high do my stats have to be to be happy again?
As a faggy art cop it suprised me how fun the red and yellow stats were, going full red is well-worth it
>drinks and snorts himself nearly to death because tfwnogf
She must have a dolphin tier pussy for him to fall down so hard.
It's pretty fucking annoying because you're barraged by dozens of checks every single minute.
it was more than that
she killed his unborn child too
Max stats means every single skill speaks up at every give opportunity. Gets annoying real fast.
Vnchad here found this game to be boring and slow and annoying spent like 1 hour getting to some hanged guy and the options were to like kick him or whatever. Boring shit
Harry is of an inferior haplogroup and she knew it.
Harry romanticized her and it turned into an obsession. She became an object or a symbol rather than a person to him.
He was a schizo way before she was in his life but once she left him it broke him completely
>Logic: Explain in detail why his opinion is incorrect
>Authority: Just call him a nigger
Happened to me too desu you shouldnt consider any hole as some kind of superior being. They are low iq and shitty people mostly who only think about getting their holes fucked
Most people are low iq
damn dude, you are the only person I know who would enjoy reading a boring 80 hour melodrama about japanese kids than play an enjoyable interactive game that is 30 hours tops.
>enjoyable
debatable
>interactive
just barely
>game
short story really
>debatable
arguable
>just barely
disputable
>short story really
dubious
Most people are average, that's the whole point of it.
Nigger
Don't make retarded posts, user
>detective
arriving
>on
the scene
I was demonstrating the futility of our disagreement. I think the game's okay, it's just not my speed and a lot of the story beats are boring and irrelevant to Harry's development or the central themes.
especially when you live in a slav-inspired war torn hell hole most are content to go about their business.
Also worth noting Harry lives in an incredibly depressing city and as a detective he confronts the worst parts of the city basically everyday. He had one thing kind of keeping him together and it walked out on him, this is a man who was always going to fall hard.
isn't the town basically a banlieue, what with being a shithole where most people speak French?
No need to be redundant user.
Hah, I understand this reference.
Jannies won't though and that's what matters.
>banlieue
I post on Yea Forums don't expect me to have a varied or worldly outlook.
Basically a French ghetto.
for me, it's skills arguing each other or calling out Harry's bullshit
what game
Bluegrass Valhalla.
Reggae Nirvana
It's the canon playthrough.
There is also the slow moving apocalypse with void fog that will consume everything eventually.
Rock Heaven
Disco Elysium fans be like:
>damn that's some awesome gameplay!
what?
I'll top your mom.
>what?
He was implying that DE is nothing but text which means it's not a video game.
He's implying that words mean nothing to him because he is illiterate and his speech synthesizer software does not read the image text out loud.
>wojak poster
ah, you are just a retard. Carry on then.
Eh, don't worry about it.
Yes
Isn't this game literally just a VN though?
VN but depressing, quirky commie gobbledygook
Think of it more like a TTRPG
Its more like a point and click adventure game.
But, there's no combat or RPG mechanics beyond dialogue?
It's a political propaganda game made by trannies for trannies, it also happens to be Reddits favorite game. Personally I couldn't stomach the pretentious nature of it for more than 2 hours.
Tetris doesn't have combat either, guess it ain't a game, huh?
Why is it shilled here so hard?
Yea Forums is full of midwits
This place is slowly turning into Reddit.
Well, Tetris certainly isn't an RPG, I can say that much.
t. redditor
Dice rolls and stats that you level. There's nothing saying a TTRPG has to have combat, if your session doesn't involve a fight, but your DM had you investigate the town and roll persuasion checks to get stuff from people, insight checks to remember key details etc. did you not play that night? Disco Elysium is basically that. There are a couple of combat encounters, but your main job is to explore and learn about yourself, the world and the murder.
I just finished playing all of the quests and I spent the entire time repeating the words "This is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes..." under my breath.
I fucking hated it. I was writhing around on the floor in front of my seat for the last 20 minutes it was so painful. They actually fucking made a videogame about Reddit. No dog whistles, no allusions, just pure straight Reddit pleb shit. There isn't one joke or quote in this anime that wouldn't get you at least 50 upvotes on r/games and r/videogames
>Ayy quirky commies make vidya lmao
If you liked it you're in the wrong place
why not? It has just as much role playing as the average jrpg
i ended up dropping this somewhere after the first "bossfight", it never felt engaging to me and i played dozens of actual VNs
There's a story, XP system, dungeons, enemy encounters, loot and equipment in Tetris? Oh wait, no, you're just being a dum-dum for the sake of being a bum-bum.
It's an RPG in the original sense.
You are playing the role of a pre-defined character and deciding how he reacts to people and events around him while also exploring the world around you.
Sometimes your decisions influence the world, sometimes they only matter to you alone, in how you see the main character approaching a situation. There is no combat gameplay, but there is a stat system which influences the amount of information you gain, and how successful an approach is to a problem.
Compared to visual novels or pointnclick games there is a lot more focus on building a character and doing things the way you want to do them. There isn't really anything like it at the moment, although apparently the new Citizen Sleeper game wants to do something similar.
It's honestly more fun with the limited skills. Outside of a few annoying checks, your skills don't really matter, and you'll progress through the game with any combination. One of the brilliant parts is people talking about "how shivers is mandatory" because they took shivers and thought it was very useful, not realizing a different person can feel exactly the same about inland empire or encyclopaedia or whatever they chose. It also makes it funnier how your character is terrible at most things, but has autistic knowledge or talent in a few things.
Already did.
It's called Umineko.
So it's literally just dialogue checks?
Are there branching paths and different endings or anything like that?
How different can the characters even be if it's just dialogue? How does that even work with a party?
>It's an RPG in the original sense.
Its not a game in any sense of the word
that's literally just an audio book
sounds like it already has more production value than this garbage
cope, retard
>fascist who has liberals living rent free gets mad the game doesn't affirm his viewpoint
surely it did not, no need to be silly.
yes thats what you are doing trannoid
still coping?
Literal seething.
Literally coping
There are 20 different stats you can level up and passive and active skill checks based on those stats. Passive checks are just dice rolled behind the scenes that give you more options to take conversations in or provide you with extra knowledge while the active checks are the ones you choose to engage in, stuff like trying to figure out how many people were walking around a certain area or trying to punch a child in the face.
As you choose certain options you also unlock a thoughts which can further modify your stats and give you insight on your character. Following certain political thoughts like only saying communist things or fascist things will open political vision quest which can introduce you to new characters or get more dialogue out of existing characters.
There are different endings and your party options are pretty limited outside of yourself because the 20 different voices ringing around your head are your party.
Metal Samawat
Also fuck my count was off, every time I said 20, change that to 24
