NEW STEAM DECK DROP IN FIFTEEN MINUTES
I THINK THIS IS THE ONE FOR ME BROS
NEW STEAM DECK DROP IN FIFTEEN MINUTES
Just payed for mine
If you're in this thread you're propably asking yourself "who is this for?" So let me explain.
Its for people who want to play switch on better hardware.
youtube.com
Whoping 15fps, no reason to own a switch anymore. You also dont have to bother with playing your party games multiplayer anymore, or who even cares about online?
Not only can you emulate high end hardware, but also run sonic on a FUCKING 20 fps on rpcs3.
Thats right bitch, wooping 20 fps
youtube.com
You can literally throw your ps3 into the trash.
Play indie on a vita? Steamdeck runs them with 3 times the size of a vita, also no portability required since nobody will like you save yourself the trouble from leaving your apartment. OLED burn-ins? Not on the kek.
>But oled burn in is just a meme
Falseflagging chink chinker zhan tendie hiding behind a vita cope
Additionally theres epic pc exclusive indie games like goat simulator and sex with stalin you can play.
AAA games while taking a dumb on the toilet.
Also, cutting edge technology first time allows you to connect your PC TO A MONITOR, you heard right bitch. You can CONNECT YOUR PC TO A MONITOR to use it as homeconsole.
Steamdeck is for everyone that wants the power of the machine
Just curious, when did you place your order?
an hour and a half after they first opened. I'm a US 256gb.
I KNEW IT WOULD BE TODAY
ITS FINALLY FUCKING OVER BROS
Just send my Switch to valve to be used as trade in credit towards the Deck and was given $250 for it, might as well since its just collecting dust.
That's a lot of words, but you didn't explain who this is for.
Just paid for mine too, how long does it take for them to ship.
Eu btw.
Usually 1-3 days after payment
Wtf, I ordered mine on the second day at 3pm and got it on april 22nd.
Are you EU region? They already shipped all orders to reservations placed on the first day.
Yup.
no email
You seem mentally ill. BOTW is a game that doesn't even emulate well on Yuzu, meanwhile on Cemu it runs at an easy 60fps on Deck, while people are capping it at 40 for battery life. Sonic games don't run well on RPCS3 either, given that on my strong PC, sonic 06 doesn't even launch.
WELL WHERE THE FUCK IS IT
Dark magic..
Why the fuck don't Valve put the 64gb and 256gb units on the backburner and just spend a week shipping the 512gb units. Their backlog of 512 orders is enormous.
Took 9 days to go from their warehouse in the Netherlands to Finland.
Jamal the FedEx driver is taking it to your local pawn shop as we speak.
steam-deck-calculator.web.app
Steam calculator says mine will be in June
Thanks, guess we'll see.
I thought by the time I would get the message it my financial situation would allow me to buy it
seems I was wrong
go without me, friends
If only I could use Gyro on this, it would be helluva experience
Mine's coming "next year" most likely, should I just cancel it and wait for the next version? Very slightly disappointed in the battery life (however that new 40hz mode does seem like a gamechanger) but also mobile chipsets are progressing so fast that it's kind of making me want to wait even more.
I got a mail today, should I buy it? 550 is a lot of fucking money
>tfw $29 left in my bank account after today
I would have been ok since I get payed Wednesday anyway, but I wanted that shit shipped ASAP
> buy a switch, play all without problems
> buy a deck, play steam games without problems
are you poor?
It is safe to say Valve isn't planning to release Steam Deck till the end of next year at least (Probably 2024 more like for a "Pro Version")
The 40hz is really neat, and it does feels a lot smother compared to 30 FPS, I was testing it for the last week or so, however when I turned back to 60hz it was like going from a 60hz to a 90/120hz. Its a really trippy experience
Nah, I’m still gonna use my Switch to play most 1st party nintendo games. Although I may dabble in Cemu to see if the performance is better on anything. Definitely gonna get the full N64 library though, fuck the dripfeeding that they are doing with NSO
You can. Just set up custom controller settings.
Same dilemma, I have the spare money but bills just eating at my bank account every month has me wanting to spend as little on extra shit.
I tried a couple times, however not sure if its a glitch of the streaming side, but it tillts hard right. Like its fucking crazy. I tried both the Steam Deck Controller settings, also on the Steam Link settings on the PC, same results
Has anyone set up dualboot on it?
I'm thinking about all the h-games it clearly was meant to play but also want good performance via steamos.
imagine letting Valve live this rent free in your head simply because of you being scared your bing bing wahoo machine is going to be redundant
How can Nintendo not suew the shit out of them for this?
You can’t play h-games on the default OS?
>Not waiting for the Super Switch coming out next year with the new Zelda
Good luck emulating that deckcels
I’ll just buy that too, you aren’t poor are you?
>inb4 consoooome
It's Linux, from what I remember you can't play some RPGMaker MV games, not even via wine.
Ren'Py shit can run natively most of the time.
Because as the Switch this is just an oversized handheld you dumb fuck. It has more in common with the PS Vita (Trackpads, Gyro in the actual console) than the switch
So how does this steam deck drop work? My availability is April-June but I have a few friends saying they would help my pay for half of it for my birthday in a few weeks. Is it only on mondays where I should be hopeful or is it random.
please my help desk job is slow and I wanna play MH Rise at work
that thing is a monster
ngl, that button placement looks insanely uncomfortable compared to the switch. even the PS vita knew better and pout the buttons and D pad below/above the fucking analog sticks. infact i cant think of a handheld that DOESNT do this. There is a reason why you dont put them directly next to the sticks...
Mine should be arriving tomorrow.
Reserved on 18th of July, got my mail on the 2nd, shipped on the 4th.
EU 64GB
Honestly its not bad. It is way better than a Switch (with ErgoGrips), however the back macro buttons are in a weird place. I guess it feels like a more ergonomic Wii U controller
You can. You just need to generate a Japanese locale first.

People in /hgg2d/ on /h/ will also help if you have trouble with specific games.
How comfortable is it when playing in this postion? I don't have a couch in my room and I'm not gonna sit in front of my computer
Is it worth getting the 512GB model or should I get the 256GB? Is there room for memory expansion?
When can I buy a steam deck?
If you have a headrest 90° its quite comfortable. However I don't think that the guy in your picture will stay comfortable at that position
I kek’d
>So how does this steam deck drop work?
Emails sent on mondays and thursdays at 10am PST
Get the 256gb. I'm rocking the same with 512gb MicroSD card and so far no problem.
>he didn't order
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO
I'm going to be in the same boat since I just moved and bought a bunch of furniture. Luckily I waited a week before I pre-ordered so things might still work out for me.
Got mine on Thursday. Downgraded my CFW Switch's SD card just so I could take the 512gb for my emudeck setup. Thing's been amazing for my old game tests but I still haven't downloaded any roms yet.
no, absolutely NOT. if you have a D pad next to a analog stick first off fighting games become absolutely impossible to play. you will constantly be hitting the analog stick when using the D pad because of retarded design. and this doesnt just go for fighting games, it goes for any game that uses D pad.
but these apes didnt stop at the D pad, the also put the fucking ABXY buttons next to the other analog stick aswell, DOUBLE fucking you. imagine playing any game that is fucking star dew valley that requires even 1% of brain power or AP and you are constantly hitting bot analog sticks when playing.
shitty design.
>Be me
>Got hooked into Rimworld recently
>suck at it but still managed to build a decent base
>Save file on PC
>Open Save File on Deck 500km away from my PC
>All the mods working flawlessly
Honestly this is such a great feeling
Post your hand.
hands have nothing to do with it retard. the buttons/Dpads are not even 1 inch apart ffs. thats like half a inch from each other AT BEST.
I don't play any fighting games however I had no problem with:
Super Meatboy
Ghostrunner
Celeste
Downwell
Ghostrunner
Just Cause 4
L4D2
Dying Light
Sonic Mania
Hollow Knight
etc
Thats wholesome user, enjoy the game
You haven't held it, you don't know what it's actually like to use, retard.
I got my email for the 512 GB version today. How much am I overpaying for the storage now that M.2 2230 SSDs are more common? Is it worth reselling it and then picking up a 64 GB model and buy an M.2 2230 SSD (maybe 1 TB) and replacing the storage yourself?
