racing doesn't even have Outrun 2 unless I'm blind

Red Faction Guerrilla and Binary Domain are shit

No, I have played through the game in its entirety (and I did go for the "lose your save game option") and I also did get the philosophical underpinnings. (I have read Sartre, Camus, Beauvoir and all the other early 20th century existentialists).
It does not really add something new to the discussion imo and just regurgitates what those philosophers already have said. It's good but I feel like people are exaggerating its "deepness".

It sounds like you didn't really understand the point of the story and it's world. It's supposed to rely on your own perception of it. It's not supposed to spell those meanings out for you with heaps of exposition like you're probably used to with playing a game like Skyrim.

Maybe I missed the point, guess I'll have to replay it. Dunno, I am used to looking for deeper meaning in works of fiction (it's literally kind of my job) and I was a bit disappointed by what the game was offering on that end. It's still smarter than most games but, mayhaps, it was the way people were talking about it that ruined it for me. I expected a game that would change my perception of reality (which good works of art can do) and it only made me say "neat" and "that's clever" from time to time.
