My only issue with robots is that they completely ignore certain gameplay mechanics like freeze.
Scouts would be more popular and viable if the grappling hook had three charges that recharged independently instead of just a single shot. It would also cut down on the amount of scouts falling to their deaths.
I think Freeze needed some balancing, where fire should have a distinct advantage... but it's irritating just HOW useless it is here.

3 seems OP, but maybe if they had a weapon mod that gave them 2 charges in exchange for a much slower cooldown.
Scout survivability is already incredibly high in capable hands. They shouldn't be able to save themselves if they fail to plan. Fall damage should have meaning to all classes.
I can admit cryo cannon was OP, but I don't think making it completely useless in certain areas is the right way to go, especially since it's still just as OP everywhere else.
Just change the less fall damage upgrade to immune to fall damage for 2s after releasing the grapple.
I still get pissed when I fire the grapple for a split second and I lose a whole charge even if the hook never grappled onto anything, and then I need to wait 10 seconds for it to be actually usable. Out of all the things changed since early DRG (I still miss flaregun upgrades and getting stuck with others behind the old terminal) the lack of improvements to scout's main utility is annoying

Scout could use something not to immediately eat shit upon a miscalculation, but not just a complete immunity to falls, that's boring.
Make it so the grapple can slowly rappel you straight down, but make it super slow so that you are vulnerable and punished for being dumb, you either take your fall damage or dangle there for a minute wishing you aimed better or had hoverboots.
