Only a few hours before we get new cards. Are you ready?
Master Duel
No one has ever ashed my traptrix cards for some reason. Infeel like they're all expecting Utopia so they're saving Ash for that. I literally can't think of a single example where a traptrix monster effect got ashed
Why the fuck is this card ultra rare AND only retrievable from master pack instead of the same deck with the rest of its archetype?
Why does KonamiJews hate me?
>activate a card
>game asks if I want to activate another card
>choose no
>activate it in a separate chain to avoid counter traps or other chain based abilities
>
Doesn't mean you should just assume all games will play like that, I assume since you're struggling with solemn and are worried about LP upkeep you're playing at a relatively beginner level. The higher you go the more important stopping that one card or summon is going to be then just getting a big beat stick out to smack someone.
The same shit happened to chocolate magician
That's the legacy pack
>No one has ever ashed my traptrix cards for some reason
How? Sorry but that's just ridiculous, who in their right mind wouldn't Ash Sera or Exceed which are pivotal to build a proper field during your turn? The only reason I see people would Ash Utopia Double is if they had two in the hand and had already Ash'd the previously mentioned cards in the past turn. I just find it impossible to believe, I played a whole season with Traptrix and that scenario never, in a single time, happened.
So i'm crafting staples and I got 60 UR. I have one Ash and one Maxx C.
Which should I take to three? Or should I just get one of each?
Meant for
I'm trying to get gud with Rikka
Merrowgeist is really bad but they didn't want to make it an N/R and put it in the Secret Pack because... uh...
Yeah I'm with this anonMy sera or exceed gets ashed like 90% of the time, it's maddening
I'm on my way, Notqua
Yea I know I'm retarded but you see what I mean.
I wouldn't call it really bad but certainly more situational. It's nice to be able to sidestep graveyard effects, and just slotting one in my extra deck would make it an interesting enough tool I feel since I like to try to keep my ED at least believably in theme.
Oh I stopped running Exceed too, it didn't appear consistently enough. Its common to get Sera turn 1 after all, and Clupris or whatever shortly afterwards since traptrix swarm. After that there's no more link summoning
Do we know what sets are getting added? I fell off MD and haven't been paying attention
Drytron Herald expert here. ill pitch in since anons have helped me here a ton with other decks here.
Choke points IMO:
Forbidden Droplet HARD counters this deck, Absolutely infuriating to deal with.
Infinite Impermanence: Mu Beta, if this card is negated, they can't send a Drytron to the grave, nor use this for multiple Ritual Summons.
Ash Priorities: Zeta = Benten, Alpha, Diviner
Sometimes Drytron players don't search Herald of Perf/Ult until their set up is complete.
Players can absolutely do the whole Beatrice/Mu Beta/Herald/Masquerena set up with only a Zeta and Alpha, just to keep in mind how powerful having those two are.
Rare cases: Ash Mu Beta IF you sense they NEED Alpha or a Zeta in the grave. You'll notice they might need it if you see Altais or even Gamma being used early, because they don't have the required pieces drawn for their end game board, and are using them to eventually send Alpha/Zeta to the grave.
Also, this deck can brick a decent amount tbqh. If I draw no Drytrons, I'll scoop. If I have no access to the Ritual Spell, I'll scoop. Hell, if I don't have any handtraps while going second, I'll contemplate scooping. I'll admit though, this is one of the decks where even going second, I can still bring it back compared to other decks. I've been filtered hard from Diamond ranks this time around. Actually, it's been so hard, I've only made it to Plat 2, and fell down because of well placed Ashes or Forbidden Droplets. I've edited my deck to counter these cards more, but it's been pretty difficult still. I've had multiple losing streaks from Plat 2, only because of coin flips and Forbidden Droplets.
If you're really tired of Drytron Herald, run 3 of Forbidden Droplet/Dark Ruler No More, preferably the former if manageable. Tomorrow this deck might as well be a rogue deck, because it's going to be hard just only having access to one Benten, even if it's doable.
>guy summons a ton of shit under my maxx c
>ends on nocturia exterio with a full grave/fairy tale snow in grave/apollo
>draw 3/4ths of my deck no droplet
>start burning most of my hand knowing he'll negate it all
>use another maxx c
>he lets it slide
>he uses snows revival effect
>the card i draw is droplet
fuck that was close
I suppose my problem is that I don't know when the right time to use it is. I always wait too late and then it's over, or I use it too early and they just play around it and still summon a boss
Will fun control decks like Subterrors and Traptrix move up a tier with these new cards?
Burst of Destiny and The Grand Creators
What's subterrors? I haven't heard of them before
You run triple Exceed with triple Shade Brigandine to have a high chance of having Sera and Rafflesia during your first turn. Sera is defenseless by herself unless you have a loaded backrow. And did you mean Cularia? She usually comes until your second turn.
What variant are you running?
>Forbidden Droplet HARD counters this deck, Absolutely infuriating to deal with.
Be careful and don't over commit,I have won games because the opponent dumped all their hand
Sword soul an PUNK
there is a minimal chance we get a mega update with everything up to grand creators considering the datamines, but I assume that exosisters and birbs are next month
Anyway, it's much better than the previously assumed MONTHS for anything
Nobody ever fucking remembers called last for the next turn too
Why is it that when I face drytons and have droplet, they still have multiple orange lights and an ash in hand
Any new cards for my cancer stun deck?
Yeah I tend to run way more traps than monsters. I have occasionally "bricked" by having nothing but traps for 3 or even 3 turns in a row too...
Redpill me on dinomorphia. Is it like Ra where you take away 99% of your LP to make a single boss monsters that gets erased from a card effect and you have to watch the other guy do a 5 minute combo just to cherry tap you?
Or is it like, good?
>Fun control deck
>subterror
Should have said paleos, subterrors just sit on their floodgates
>bricking for 3 turns
That's nothing watch this!
Chad deck that centers around flip effects. Has great unique hand traps.
I love making people seethe with numerons
It's ok, but most decks you see summon and do something immediately so it doesn't work.
how cheap is that deck?
Please Respond
It's solid, B+. Mix Ra with Eldlitch. Set is still incomplete even in OCG though because they've fallen into the habit of releasing an archetype over multiple sets to get you to buy more packs
there is no datamine of a new pack bundle.
These new cards will come with their own secret packs, AND you will have to craft an SR card to unlock it.
The datamined bundle packs belong to none of the upcoming archetypes.
>dragoon deck
>chad
Yeah 90% of the time either my Mantis, Myrmeleo, or Exceed get ashed
And once you get going/have Raflesia getting ashed should never even be any issue since Traptrix have quick access to Gravedigger's. By the time you go for the Utopia OTK there's really no reason for you not to be able to negate ash.
>when
LOL
Depends on your decks, but probably Ash.
Both are pretty important. I guess as a new player Maxx C might be able to get you more wins but you should really have 3 of both
two of each should be good, do you have other good cards like forbidden droplet, infinite impermanence, etc?
pure, I know that I need to mix it for better perfomance, but I wanted to learn the archetype first to see what's good to run and to not run
Sky tranny tier, usable but bad.
The Dinomorphia traps prevent you from battle and effect damage while they're in the GY, so you got some way to protect yourself. Other than that, they're ok. Other than the PAY HALF gimmick, they're not as good as other control decks. They're not worth it until their other boss monster comes out in DIFO, which is basically a one-sided Skill Drain on a giant dinosaur.
>forbidden droplet
Yes
>infinite impermanence
No
I would reccomend having 2 of each and later craft 1-2 belle or ogre
if you can only fit droll or droplet which would you do?
Ash is mandatory on all decks. Brick C is great when it works, literal brick when it doesn't. Ash always works, go for Ash.
droplet
Unplayable in competitive IRL really good otherwise, just be careful of that superply wiping your entire board.
that's ok the datamine says imperm is getting a bundle deal like ash had in the coming months.
droplet is more universally useful. Droll is an insta win vs some decks but does nothing vs others
replace maxx c for droll
That just comes with match up knowledge, learn what decks are currently out in the meta and learn which ones you need to strike down to stop their whole game plan. Just know to not worry too much about spending LP cost when a well timed judgement/strike can easily turn the tide. The current meta is one of winning by either avoiding/stopping hand traps and negates or by using them stopping your opponents summons/effect.
just play more until you learn what to ash
i'd agree but i imagine drytron might see less play after the banlist, i know it doesnt really kill it but still
You're right, I wouldn't replace droplet tho, you're gonna need it more than ever now that DPE is coming.
Definitely won't see less play. It helps stops their recursion a bit, but they still have Eva and Union Carrier. They survived in TCG with 1 Benten 1 Eva, no Union Carrier for a while, MD still has them with 3 fucking Eva and that fucking piece of shit Union Carrier.
You can never go wrong with ashing something that special summons a monster directly from the deck.
Depends on what you use as filler. Since all the deck does is activate its field spell then swing with the monsters it summons all you need are 3x of the field spell(UR), and the monster that searches it(SR), 1x Teraforming, then 2-3 of Numeron Calling(R), 2x of the 5 numeron extra deck monsters(N), and one of the other numeron xyz(SR).
The rest of the deck can just be hand traps and kaijus or whatever going second cards you choose to use.
Uh, sisters? Are there any new cards for stun deck coming?
Interesting, I'll have to look into it. I've kinda wanted a flip deck after a messy fight with a krawler player where they just keep swarming so flipping could be fun?
Also I wanna slip in a man Eater bug for funsies
be honest with me, how shit is p.u.n.k?
How accurate is this?
At least 3 cards that are incredibly core to being able to play your deck, 2 being SR and 1 being UR, all 3 of which you need THREE OF, aren't legacy pack.
Hm, so ignore until their boss is what I'm getting?
master duel sucks
>summon majesty's fiend turn 1
>opponent scoops
lmao
Oh Exceed getting ashed has happened. So I just got rid of Exceed and it worked.
What's the link between gravedigger and Ash?
I find Utopia too gimmicky to be consistent though. A lot of the times I simply won't summon it except as a direct beatstick counter to an enemy boss monsters. But even then its not a OTK and the boss monsters might be able to destroy or Negate Utopia anyway.
I'm thinking of removing Utopia and replacing it with something more consistent like Egyptian God Slime, maybe even into an Egptian god?
Maybe I should spend my UR and craft Obelisk?
eh
i might use blackout in a pure yang zing control build or something
there are SO MANY different archetypes that have the whole "float when destroyed" gimmick I really can't believe unchained is the only one that's viable
most future proof?
depsia/shaddol, or eldlich?
>go first, opponent uses Maxx C
>I was in the middle of my combo so I give him 3 cards, draws a blassum so I can't finish with a search
>set disruption and pass
>opponent is playing cydras, use my own Maxx c
>Torrent his machine duplication, he still summons a shitton of monsters but is 1200 away from lethal anyway
>gives me enough cards in hand to Kaiju the cydra XYZ and clean, pop the droplet they had set
>summon my machines and burn with Gustav, attack for game
I feel sorry because that was his demotion game but otherwise a good show of why Maxx C can be such an important card
Braindamageanon, I assure you, going into an egyptian god for a finisher is about a million times worse than just sticking with Utopia Double.
Unironically Virtual World or Evil Twin
Evil Twin boss time?
n-no...
