That's literally what FF14 does, dummy.
A Summoner and Black Mage both play completely differently and feel entirely distinct to play, but they each have the tools to deal with any given encounter and bring a practically identical contribution. Same with Samurai and Dragoon, Ninja and Monk, etc etc.
Re-read what you said, you're arguing ENTIRELY for game feel/flavour, which is what I've been saying is important all along.

user SAM and DRG feel almost exactly the same to play
SAM uses an 8-step combo to get 3 stickers to use on big weeb slash
DRG uses a 10-step combo to get 2 scales to use on big weeb stab
both also operate on the same 30s-60s-120s burst windows
other than DRG having a slightly longer GCD than the others, all 4 melee are just "the melee jobs" with only animations to differentiate them
your definition of "flavour" is like comparing which type of tofu meat substitute tastes the best, it's all the same bland mush with different sprinkles on top
