Fable II turns 15 next year (which is probably also when the new Fable game will be released).
Let's hear it for the most chronically underrated and underappreciated title of Yea Forums!

This game allowed me to have sex and have a family, 2 things I will NEVER be able to do in real life.
I will always be grateful.
Hammer is best girl
I liked how her character developed
She was literally 'woman hear me roar' before the alt left came about
pc port when
I actually hated all the other heroes, especially Reaver.
I found them all tedious.
Compare to Thunder and Whisper and Briar Rose and Scythe and so on from TLC and just... ugh, what happened.
Reaver was the faggot?
I think I gave up around that time. The black magic dude wasn't too bad.
Thunder/Whisper were boring as fuck desu.
Scythe wasn't too bad.
Briar was pretty good later on. Early on she sucked
>Reaver was the faggot?
Yes, played by Stephen Fry.
>Thunder/Whisper were boring as fuck desu.
Nah, Thunder was pretty cool and the Oracle's background information on them was sweet.
Whisper genuinely made you hate her in those early stages of the game, she was a fantastic early game antagonist and rival..
Whisper was just boring
Same with Thunder
I emulated this 2p with my cousin the other day. Still super buggy though.
Different strokes, I guess...
Just get a cheap XO or XSX/XSS and play it on backwards compatibility.
It's the only way to play The Darkness too :)
I just found Whisper ultimately boring
But I was like 15 when it first came out
Thunder wasn't so bad up until the end when his whole story is revealed and it ust seemed like they had no idea what to do with him
>dig out 360 recently
>play through like 75% of this
>can't reach reaver's questline because brightwood won't load
If they ported it to PC someone would have fixed this, at the very least I'd be able to download someone else's save to progress
Fuck the 360 era for never porting anything.
I thought you can stream it with xbo live or something
No.
It only takes like 5 hours to complete the main quest, just start a new game.
Dude, you have no idea what you're missing out on...
how is it the piece of shit sequel got ported but not this?
I'll just wait another 10 years for more progress if I have to.
Still can't believe that after all the shit he does, Reaver never gets killed off in 2 or 3, and he just gets to go off and annoy people for the rest of time. I wanted to kill the fucker after he shot Barnum and we'll never get the chance.
this game is trash
just spam the time stop spell then do whatever
I'm about to beat Fable 3 meow and had a decent time with it. Basic, but the side quests were worth a visit. If I were to get the Xbox One backwards compatability version, would it be worth it? I never got a chance to play it because I didn't have a 360 but I did beat the first one and enjoyed it.
They'll be a new fable game?
I always find them odd. I hate and love them at the same time. I enjoy the world, the characters, the freedom, but then combat starts and I just stop enjoying myself as much.
Or, in Fable 3's case, I become king, find out I have to fund the kingdom out of my own pocket or be evil, and wonder WTF that ending was.
So I'm looking forward to another.. I guess.
Also miss the Black and White series
Still has the issue with 80% of the screen being shaded differently than the rest, your dog exploding into vertexes, crashing issues(I crashed when talking to a demon door), and some random stuff like the bottom of the screen turning white in the Hobb cave.
It's playable but it's not great.
>how is it the piece of shit sequel got ported but not this?
I have no idea but it's a fucking tragedy.
It's okay to be an evil child abusing robber baron backstabbing slaver as long as you're gay and campy, bro!
>If I were to get the Xbox One backwards compatability version, would it be worth it?
100%, it's the best game in the series after Fable: the Lost Chapters (only ever play the original, you can get it cheap on Steam, never play the Anniversary remaster).
Fable II is really comfy.
>Anniversary plays well but looks like shit
feels bad man
Just get Fable: The Lost Chapters on Steam. Plays just as well, really, without the awful hatchet job and clipping through their wallpapered textures all the time.
It crashes and doesn't have gamepad support.
still not on PC annoyingly, i'd even settle for a shitty reverse engineered version that modders have to fix
>constantly had my character have sex with corpse lady because I was a growing degenerate.
>found out game had STD counter, and it was 130+
walking pandemic.
>doesn't have gamepad support.
Keyboard and mouse
>It crashes
Anymore than Anniversary?
>Let's hear it for the most chronically underrated and underappreciated title of Yea Forums!
but this is a topic about Fable 2, the overrated one
Reminder to turn on your fable 2 and see how much wealth you've accumulated over the last 14 years from all the real-estate you own.
I turned mine on about 2 months back and received about 7 million gold.
Anniversary doesn't crash afaik and it still doesn't have gamepad support. Not comfy.
Anniversary has crashed on me, both playing on 360 and later playing on PC.
Different developers to begin with.
>it still doesn't have gamepad support.
Neither do a lot of classic PC titles, sadly. It might not be the optimal way to play but it's still better than suffering through Anniversary.
I see. It was awful on 360 but I thought the PC version was alright stability wise. It's too ugly to play though.
I'll just let it rest in piece. Feels bad though.
Your loss desu...
It's not like I've never played it. I'd just play it more if it was comfy....
As someone that loves gaming with a gamepad, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet.
Fable II is a great game, but the character models, clothing options and colours are all supremely ugly. I honestly can't think of a game with uglier models than Fable 2
It was playable via steam input and a xboner controller
It only lacked the vibration.
I'd rather play it on my xbox ses if they only bothered to add TLC on the store.
They finally fixed the invisible ground bug? Thank fuck.
It's pretty janky. Takes a lot of work to make it all feel right.
I was in 8th grade when fable 2 came out. I remember hiding my report card because I failed science and I knew my parents wouldn't let me buy it if they found out. Bought the game at gamestop and had a blast for two days until my mom found out and grounded me for a month. Good times.
I was like 17 and got a job to buy a 360 for it, then borrowed money from my grandma and got an advance on my pay cheque to pay her back lol.
based grandma
You can but no DLC so that sucks
aaah my hourly existential crisis
>The only game with a last boss fight and ending worse than ME3.
lol
Follow the glowing line - the game.
Best game in the series, no idea why they went with that shitty ending though
the witcher 3 questing system and the demon's souls online gameplay all before those two hit the market.
lol this game wasn't that great. It was a fun good game but not some sort of masterpiece deserving of the highest praises. You couldn't even really lose at all in the game. Dying couldn't happen. That alone makes this fall short from greatness.
Peter Molyneux was such a great ideas guy but his games always came with drawbacks. That is such a shame because if only he had the funds back then and teams to truly put his grand visions to the test but also someone to reel in his autism a bit when needed. Both Black & White and Fable had such interesting ideas and potential. B&W 1 though was definitely a fantastic game and his best one imo.
>it wasn't hard so it sucks
Hate this meme. To me the game is just as hard as almost any action game because I don't suck at video games.
Can't you play it through Steamdeck now? I know you can finally play Oblivion with a controller through Steamdeck.
Where in the fuck do you get that I said it sucks? Knock it off you autistic retard. I said it was a good game. It just could have been a much better game and yeah not being able to die is a huge drawback for the game. It really kills immersion and replayability for me. It was a very dumb decision especially considering how easy the first game was anyways. And its not like he had to penalize you that much for deaths anyways. Tons of games have creative ways in penalizing for this without it being literally arcade style back to stage 1.
why did this never come to PC fucking ree
Devs basically thought PC gaming was dead at the time, very few titles were coming to PC desu.
i liked fable 3 more
no one played it since it didnt leave the cuck box
