no, they really were that fucking full of themselves. they expected TLOU2 to be the second coming of christ in vidya form, and they shamed themselves in the process of hyping it up. it didnt help that nintendo was already going the safe route with digital announcements, but this was the nail in the coffin - tons of wasted money and effort, only to be laughed out of the circuit. journos were complaining about how fucking dumb it was while they were shuffling from one venue to the next - 15 minute breaks in between each trailer to get everyone seated, just to move again 10 minutes later

Jesus, this FUCKING E3, I know it was funny in hindsight but back then I only had a Wii, that was it and I kept expecting them to release some cool shit like Starfox, F Zero and Metroid, this was the final nail in the coffin for me, but I didn't get a PS3 until 2013 because I got Okami right after this shitshow and restored my faith just enough, then I jailbroke my Wii and a whole world of possibilities opened up and didn't buy A SIGNLE Wii game afterwards other than Xenoblade.
