It's because several months ago someone synched up STANDING HERE I REALIZE with Raiden punching Armstrong. The algorithm picked it up, and it brought a bunch of new eyes on it. From there it caused a bunch of people to get it and make memes about it, which caused other people to buy it and play it.
I'm 30 years old and I didn't pay that much attention to the game when it came out. I didn't play it, I listened to RULES OF NATURE a bit, but that was it. It wasn't until this recent wave of memes that I picked it up and had a blast, marathoned it, playing about 40 hours and completing all difficulty modes of the main game.
I played the shit out of it back in 2014. It coming back to relevance is strange.
Anyone else kind of despise social parasites like OP who come from these other sites, pretending to be native users confused about the "new-found" popularity, and spam these threads associating it with that nonsense, instead of discussing its inherent quality?

I kind of agree, the last 8 or so years have accelerated brainrot and people aren't able to enjoy things the same way, or understand and analyze them with the same lens so when they try to emulate them, it comes out looking nothing like the original and loses the charm.
