You didn't beat the game, you destroyed the game
You didn't beat the game, you destroyed the game
I was the 6 year old kid who saw other people playing Pokemon and realized Bulbasaur was strong against the first three gyms and was clearly objectively the correct choice and anything else was suboptimal so of course I picked him when I got my own Gameboy.
bulbasaur is so cute bros
>objectively correct choice
>two of the most common types in the game
>of the three starters is the one who has the most disadvantages in terms of typing match ups
>looks dumb
6 year old you was a tard.
>Of the three starters, Charizard is the only one that has a x4 weakness which means you'll die even if overleveled
>You can just toxic the shit out of everything with Venusaur since steel-type doesn't exist yet and poison-type gets rekt by earthquake
You're the clown here user
>Bulbasaur: easy early game
>Squirtle: not hard or easy, offers utility in the form of surf
>Charmander: hard start, hard finish, but evolves into a fucking dragon
Obviously chads go with Charmander.
I played this an ungodly amount of time when I was a kid and I picked them all. They all rule and showing you don't like 1 of them portrays your weak taste.
Imagine being the kid who saw a fucking dragon and picked the frog instead.
I had yellow version so I got all three :^)
charizard sisters, we can't stop sucking!
You can get all 3 if you have the first stadium for the n64. It is the reward for beating your rival.
All the fossils, more evees, and hitmonchan/lee too.
>cherrypicking
It's almost like Charizard is the most popular or something.
... also attracts the most retarded and NPC kind of people
Yeah, popular things attract normies. I bet you feel so smart for having figured this out.
retard, Charmander gets Metal Claw so you can destroy the first gym. For the second gym, there are tons of grass pokemon.
>steel move in gen 1
more like chariTARD
>gen 1
>metal claw
absolute state of charizard fans
>t. zoomers who never played gen 1
Says the one who thinks he can use metal claw before FRLG.
Even if that was the case, they're not wrong.
good thing theres like one rock move worth using in gen 1 and it's still bad
GODDAMN watercolor pokemon just have so much more soul
Just let Bulb/Ivy carry you to Cerulean, than catch a Sandshrew and let it take over.
On the subject of Pokemon, why do people use the "it's for kids" excuse when talking about the dumbing down of new games when the old games were also for kids?
>but evolves into a fucking dragon
I can smell the manbaby autism from this post
I box starters, and story-compelled legendaries, because they feel less special than a pokemon I made the conscious decision to capture.
Like they were forced on me, like they're not really mine.
Shills
I was the kid that saw a turtle on the cover, said to myself "Yeah, I like Ninja Turtles", bought Blue and ran the turtle.
Because it's an excuse. Old games were allowed to be difficult despite being "for kids".
Not that Pokemon is anything remotely hardcore, but you had to try a little.
>ten years old and like dragons?
>heh must be manbabby autism
>you destroyed the game
You're god damn right I did
Squirtle is still better
>but you had to try a little.
No you didn't
For me it's steamrolling all gyms with overleveled Blastoise.
you may only reply to this post if you completed Earl's Pokemon Academy
BRO DID YOU KNOW IF YOU USE DEFENSE CURL BEFORE ROLLOUT IT DOES MORE DAMAGE?
STOMP DOES EXTRA DAMAGE AGAINST MINIMIZE-USERS?
Is there a Pokemon rom hack with the original art as sprite assets? I want that very badly
It kills me that to this day Venusaur is still far and away the strongest grass starter
Keep in mind how things were when Pokemon was released. You didn't know shit and the only reason you win most fights was because of how retarded the AI is.
MOOOOOODS THIS user IS 10 YEARS OLD
>STOMP DOES EXTRA DAMAGE AGAINST MINIMIZE-USERS?
I had just learned of boosted moves against minimize recently the hard way because I was running Clefairy.
>venasaur
Based prehistoric amphibian with a jungle theming
>blastoise
Based turtle kaiju
>charizard
My moms dragon
It’s so weird how people are like
>the new games are a joke
While they have the whole type matchup chart memorized by heart.
How do you go from this...
To this??!
To illustrate this point RBY had actual dungeons. With puzzles spanning multiple floors. There were hidden areas that you could end up skipping entirely with Pokemon and rewards inside of them. Nu Pokemon has none of that, it's a straight line from beginning to end. And the "hidden areas" is usually like a single lane that has a TM or something in it.
Play the old games, and even with the whole chart tattooed in the palm of your hand I assure that you'll find the game way more difficult than Sword and Shield
How was DP on the dungeon/puzzle situation?
yeah, meanwhilke infernape and blaziken SHIT on charizard
They don’t lol, actually Charizard and Incineroar are the best fire starters
there are several optional areas with puzzles and unique rewards
I wish they experimented with making your own Pokeballs more
My issue with modern pokemon game difficulty is the fact that NPC gets get cleaved down in size, lose held items, and get devolved
>Emerald Flannery - Numel, Slugma, Camerupt, Torkoal (@White Herb)
>ORAS Flannery - Slugma, Numel, Torkoal
>Lance with his hacked Aerodactyl+Rock Slide
That was some bullshit
To this?
same, but also bulbasaur was cool-looking and venusaur's sprite in gen 1 annihilated charizard's in coolness ratio
I pick bulbasaur but firespin spam is insane.
cute cat
Kids are actually getting dumber.
bulbasaur has sleep powder spam anyway, basically the same thing
trannies think they are still kids
I hate all those red lines and circles. Dude, I can read just fine.
man they really need to bring the "suburban technology adventure" aesthetic of pokemon back where you use cool gadgets and technology as a supplement to training pokemon. They've never shown how TMs are used/"booted up", these things could make for cool lore.
I remember The Electric Tale of Pikachu had a lot of this aesthetic.
no pokemon ever had the magic of the three starters. you cant prove me wrong.
Kanto invented perfect cloning technology. Bill gene spliced himself into a Clefable. Saffron's business district has teleporters that no one else uses. Everything about Mewtwo. Kanto is a mad scientist hellhole.
>Broken in Gen1
>OP in VGC
>OP in Smogon
>OP in Smash games
>OP in Unite
>OP in Anime
>OP in Manga
Literally the greatest pokemon ever made
You will never be popular
you will never be a woman
>faggot slant-eye gary-stu ninjafrog is number 1
fucking of course
Everyone loves frogs and Ninjas
how the fuck is turtwig not the cutest
>zardtrannies think calling charizard weaker than venusaur is a good argument for why you should pick charizard
What's wrong with them?
Man I really need to read the manga
>What's wrong with them?
see
>Get Pokemon Red while going out to run errands
>Mother has to go into another store to grab a gallon of milk or something
>Reading the manual while I wait
>the manual has one of those Professor Oak tips "For beginners I suggest Bulbasaur"
>Pick Bulbasaur
>Destroy game
Based Manual Oak
it's canonically the strongest Kanto starter
>Officially endorsed by best Professor
OH NO NO NO FELLOW CHARITARDS THE ROPE IS WRAPPING ITSELF AROUND MY NECK, GROWING PROGRESSIVELY TIGHTER EVERY SECOND?
