Early OWH thread.
MCOWH is welcome too.

Roll for class.
And if you wanted to play MCOWH, got a roulette finished for that. Not sure how I should divide it up with the number of classes, so I just went and split it as a choice.
dont give me magic shitters
I'm not a tourist
It's Mother's Day over here, so let's go with "22MOTHER".
Starting biome is volcano, could be better, could be worse.
Feels like there's an unusually large amount of items lying around the start today.
There's an absurd amount of elzite bombs just lying around on the floor for some reason.
OWH Plus right?
Yeah.
Are there other players in the seed? I saw some people rolling, but the ticker doesn't show anyone.
Oh, speak of the devil.
Isn't this the shitty version though? Do you only post this screen because it has one half-naked chick in it?
I wouldn't call it shitty, but yes, it's MCOWH. Yes, I mostly post it because it's a lot easier to recognize than a regular screenshot from OWH.
>night time
>hold V and rush through snowfield with no vision
>suddenly polar bears
>
el clasico
Damn, an elf town I couldn't get into because I was busy running for my life.
>version 1.05
Oh, no wonder I never saw you.
I hate women
At last I'm out of the wilds. Give me some goddamn food.
Holy hell stop throwing all these a holes at me. I'm down to my last awakening already...
That's the stuff.
I'm a tourist for 5 years straight
Oh man, totally forgot golems and dragons are tiny in regular OWH.
Oh good, just in time to learn how to hide like a bitch.
Being Hero class means I can just kick their shit in anyway though.
Huh, another one. Guess I'll learn how to lift, I've been skipping out on a lot of dropped items.
Nice, found my first meat shield.
Poor scroll shop merchant, attacked by bandits and wild monsters at the same time, I couldn't save them with so many monsters attacking at the same time, I'll put their inventory to good use.
There's so many goddamn tigers around here, I hate it.
Never heard of this before, sell me on it
Goes on sale often for like a dollar.
Really old FOTM, simplistic roguelike with a couple gimmicks.
>screen constantly consumed from the left, forcing you to scroll right
>basic online that shows other player's basic information that are playing in the same seed
I've never heard of this before myself. Fortunately the title of the game is in the opening post and I can use that to Google it and find information, images and videos of the game. From there, I should be able to form my own decision as to whether I want to play the game or not.
Fuck you.
Wish this was Aria teaching me detection, but I guess I'll have to settle with learning force flare.
>teleport town with the entrance in the mountains
Guess I'll have to use the teleport out.
F
Thanks for this 6WT bow I can't identify.
I haven't played this game in forever that at this point I forgot everything about it including mechanics, time to jump back in
Too many a holes in my run wanting to end me, hell. Got cornered with the demon king chasing me and I tried to avoid the bears by hiding earlier.
Only thing I can really think of is watch the clock to prepare for the boss/demon lord spawns.
Why the fuck is that clock removed in MCOWH? Probably because the UI is already super cluttered.
Damn, a bear boss squad? That sucks.
Please... analysis scrolls, something to identify all the maybe garbage I'm carrying...
Loved OWH and MCOWH back in the day.
At some point, when I tried it years later, MCOWH started feeling really sluggish and bad to play. Was that ever fixed?
No, it's still relatively sluggish. I think the main problem was that at some point, the original OWH got an update that made it even faster, making MCOWH feel like absolute molasses in comparison.
Man, still no detection or sources of analysis.
Guess I'll stay far away from the forests for now.
Welp.
So what ending are you going for? Getting close to the 1000 km mark.
>bandit confused
>busy fighting another bandit in the direction I'm facing
>confused bandit manages to hit me anyway
>albert doesn't tank the hit
It should have been easy, I took a horribly unnecessary risk. And I didn't know I was wearing this piece of shit armor.
I was going for end of the world or dimensional passage.
Score screen.
Well, it's about time anyway, have a nice Mother's Day after playing some video games or something.
alright OP I'll give the game another try. I beat the "dark lord" or whatever once and lost motivation to play but that was like 6 years ago. Left the game installed since forever because its only like 200 mb anyways
Not gunna lie, I saw this initial post and thought this was a porn game.
Try getting a different ending. Try recruiting the demon lord.
Hero class take significantly more damage from the sides and back, plus that armor and being surrounded must have hurt. Still had awakenings too.
You've been tricked, this is a wholesome family friendly game.
Feel free to give it a shot though.
Why is the girl in the OP and this one naked?
Yeah, I had a number of outs to the situation, I just thought hey, 1 in 8 chances that that bandit will attack in this direction, then cut that chance again with Albert tanking if it manages to actually target me.
The bandit I was busy fighting wasn't confused. I should have just walked away 1-2 tiles to make sure I wasn't surrounded before continuing the fight.
They're both the Hero class. Hero class gets the forbidden skill Zenura Weave, which taps into your inner retard strength.
This means you become dumb as a rock, and lose the ability to equip armor for the rest of the game in exchange for your retard strength.
Is this the game where you just run right until you hit a wall?
This has been languishing unplayed in my steam library for like a decade now. Can you have fun with this without going super deep?
Yes.
It's kind of an arcadey roguelike. It's relatively simplistic/shallow compared to most roguelikes because of the whole forced scrolling gimmick.
Also if you're new, know that easy mode(walk in the park) is literally a tutorial mode that locks you into a single ending, removes the ability to recruit partners, and is well, easy.
Is the Mystery Chronicles version any good? I heard it was shit compared to the original
pretty funny, but what's the real reason?
I like it. It's a sidegrade for the original, there's a lot of new content, if that roulette wasn't obvious enough. Could use a MCOWH+ and better PC optimization. It's pretty blatantly a console port made for playing on a controller.
Just make sure you turn visible traps on in the options if you want to avoid random instant death because you stepped on an invisible trap at the wrong time.
You just missed a 90% sale for MCOWH if you wanted it though.
