It was so successful it spawned a bunch of generic trash copies.

Every character has 1 or 2 good builds, the rest are too risky to be worth it.

artwork is pretty bad imo

I don't like card games.

First 2 acts are fun
After that tedious as fuck

I legitimately can't think of any.

Art is bad
Colored map shouldn't need to be a mod, it should be default.
Act 3 bosses are too punishing to specific builds (spam, powers), by the time you've hit act 3 you've likely committed to a build just for it to be fucked by Time Eater or Awakened One.
Animations are both mediocre and slow as fuck, getting the mod that speeds up the game by 2-3x fixes it but yet again this should be default.
Ascension 1-20 should be fully unlocked after beating the heart, no need to grind 20+ games for it.

Other than that pretty great, could use some more enemies and boss variety but it's my most played steam game so maybe I've just played too much.

intangible is too strong and trivializes the game

no booba

>Ascension 1-20 should be fully unlocked after beating the heart, no need to grind 20+ games for it.
I hate this.

I actually think this is really good design because it forces you to work some flexibility in your deck and not just lock-in once you get a rare power.

If you weren't a shitter you'd realize this is both intentional and good design. If the game was a simple as picking a "build" and forcing it it'd be a whole lot worse for it. Instead because of how the act 3 bosses are designed you have to actually think about what cards you put in your deck or have a contingency plan like a potion that helps you with a fight you'd otherwise struggle with. Thinking of the game in terms of builds rather than "what helps me solve X problem my deck struggles with" is the number one pitfall for players who have reached the point where they aren't novices anymore but also think they're way better than they are.

Not enough titties

this plus how rng dictates how most play unless one has a complete understanding of the game to manipulate and work with any deck. That skill ceiling is too high
The main knight has a chicken head. The coloring is bad. The artstyle. I dont like the way a single enemy looks

>animations
what animations lol
you mean the character jerking to the right while spawning an effect?
UI animations are ok-ish but everything else is hot garbage

Jaw worm

>first turn 8x3
>second turn 8x3

Card and relics unlocks are uselss
Act3 tends to be too easy

>Not enough porn
>no coop mode with dedicated heal slut, aggro puller, and other team classes
>it is too short and needs to have each act 3-4 times the length with much more events going on.

God I hate that plant so fucking much, act 2 hallway fights are brutal

Silent is best girl

I can't get past act 2. I do fine until I get to the act boss, and then I get turbo murdered by their high damage attacks.

for bosses pure dmg/def cards won't cut it, you need some scaling (for example ironclad has disarm, feel no pain, inflame, metallicize, spot weakness, demon form, juggernaut and more)

ugly, low effort artstyle
boring soundtrack that you'll eventually switch out with something else
the variety is bad, it should have alt stages and enemies

It looks like shit.
Gameplay is fun enough but I can't fucking bare the artstyle.

watcher is sooooo annoying to play
feels weak af on floor 2 or 3

Thoughts on downfall?

terrible art
watered down magic decks

I liked this one.

defect and watcher are far less well balanced than the first two classes
reliance on focus with almost no alternatives is a ballache, though it's satisfying when an all for one deck comes together
watcher is the kind of character where it's so utterly impossible to lose when you know how the pieces fit together it gets very dull

>"heh I have Self Repair, lemme take Philosopher's Stone"
>9x3
AAAAIIEEEE SAVE ME, NEOW

>complete understanding of the game to manipulate and work with any deck.
There is no such thing. You canät beat the higher difficulties with any deck, no matter your skill.

This was a scrappy victory, wasn't it? The max HP might have helped a LOT, but at first glance of the deck, the Heart fight must have come down to the wire
GG, without Burning Blood too. Though during act 4, Sacred Bark does probably contribute more

Your deck is garbage.

>shit animations
>limited deck variety
>relies on min/maxed small decks way too much

>>relies on min/maxed small decks way too much
user please... Deck thinning is important, but by the end you are very likely going to have 35+ card decks very often
Unless you are Watcher. Fuck Watcher

I like some of the copies a bit better for certain things. Some of them are pretty good.

>by the end you are very likely going to have 35+ card decks very often
Nigga what the fuck are you doing
You know you can skip card rewards right?

Any tips for the silent? I beat act 3 with ironclad thanks to some help from anons.

I literally can't. It's a fucking amazing game I worship the ground the devs walk on.

They stopped development on it and literally no one else seems to be competent enough to put out something comparable.

Only 3 stages, mostly the same enemies every run.
4 characters, but only 2 that are fun to play. Defect is mediocre and Watcher is just boring.

Pretty good soundtrack but just like everything else, it needs more variety.

>relies on min/maxed small decks way too much
This annoys the shit out me in deckbuilders in general, i prefer ones with a static decksize like Chrono Ark.

youre doing something wrong if you ever feel weak as watcher
i assume its ignoring the stance cards

never played chrono ark but even in games with static deck size cards that draw extra cards or replace themselves (thinning your deck) are great because consistency is more important than the best possible outcome

you only liked it because it's a porn game

>Abandon run

Attached: Time-eater-pretty.png (700x700, 309.71K)

Upgrade neutralize at the first campfire you find, weak is really strong.
Prioritize attack cards early in act 1 so you're strong enough to beat elites.
Get some form of aoe asap.

>tfw running into this guy with a shiv deck
I hate how some bosses just hard counter certain builds, it's too luck based desu

Patrician

Some of the relics aren't very well designed. Who the fuck would buy the Cauldron even on low ascension?
Sacred Bark is so fun but it's a shit boss relic that I'm actively dissuaded from taking.
Du-Vu Doll is a rare relic somehow. To get any use out of it almost always cripples your deck, but I suppose on high ascensions you're guaranteed 1 strength.
The Hand Drill. The Sling of Courage.
The rest of the relics are perfectly fine though. I might be forgetting a couple.

it's ugly as fuck. Probably the ugliest game i've ever seen get as popular as it has.

Monster Train tells you which final boss variant you'll face at the end before you're in your first encounter, and prevents you from getting surprise raped after 30 minutes of investment. It's doesn't guarantee a win, it just makes sure you don't get spontaneously hard-countered after negotiating with really spiky RNG for 2/3 of the game.

But defending dogshit design with tryhard "git gud" logic to boast about how large a cock you can fit in your ass without crying is par for the course for Yea Forums, so keep up the good fight.

looks better than fortnite

It's not that bad, even when relying on shivs, a decent deck should be able to beat that fucker. Same goes for powerhouse defect and the awakened one.

Does the game actually change what act 3 boss you'll face depending on your deck?
I always seem to get the crows whenever I play a deck with 3 or more powers.
Also I just realised I've been playing multiple runs a day for the last couple weeks and haven't seen the donut once in that entire time, weird.

*sets up a single dark orb with some frost in your path*

I got the bomb at a merchant and it seems OP

>anons give you explicit instructions on how to play the game better
>"ugh... another generic got gud response..."

lmao discard decks get more shafted than shiv decks
You're just not deep enough into the shiv hole if you aren't beating this guy
Every shiv needs to deal atleast 20+ dmg if you want to stand a chance

>Why are you still here?
BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVE 300 HP LEFT YOU MOTHERFUCKER

Attached: Giant-head-pretty.png (700x700, 185.15K)

It has that FTL problem where RNG can and will end a perfectly executed run whenever it wants by dragging you through multiple blind spots in your build, even though the game expects you to synthesize your build down into one purely realized strategy.

Music is repetitive, enemies are repetitive, each deck only has a few viable paths in ascension.

Still a great game though.

I absolutely hate relics that come with a drawback
>you get 1 extra energy every turn
>but you get buttfucked twice per turn

I'm with them though. You know what the potential bosses are after a few runs, so it's up to you to make sure you can play around them.
It's not as interesting if you build a power deck knowing that you can play the exact same way every single fight. It's interesting to think "okay I have these powers in my deck, what do I do when/if I fight the Awakened One?"
And if you're playing A20, then the chance of fighting against an undesirable Act 3 boss is high enough that you should fully expect to fight them.

*heals up to full at 50% hp*

Why do people always seem to shit on the artstyle? I find it to be fine for some $20 indie roguelite, charming even

it's so low effort, looks like a budget cartoon

it grows on you over time, but it's very goofy and lacks cohesion

It doesn't do that

>"oh my, what's this, a big steaming plate of shit? and you think you're too good to eat it?! out of my way, pleb! *scarf, munch, gulp* this is how it's done! this is only for the skilled, elite, and introspective warrior-poet! *crunches on the dried corn kernels* god, what flavor, what texture only an idiot wouldn't love this, which makes me a genius for how much I love it!"

You spun a shit design choice into a boast about how you're a hero for coping with it.
