Well i'm at a bad enough situation right now that i'm not able to get my hands on any xbox at all, and i don't think my PC is strong enough to handle emulation since it can't do ps3 too.

I looked it up and apparently there was a "collection" released in 2021. Is it actually too bad to the point of being unplayable? Should i skip this series for years until i finally stop being a poorfag?

NG1 Sigma is fine, I think it's worse than black but it's still a good way to experience the first game.

my suggestion is grab a cheap 360 and buy the first two games from the marketplace. beware that 2 does suffer from framedrops on 360, so if you have the budget, do try to grab an xbone instead

The collection is absolute dogshit, but in your situation I can give you an alternative:
1. Pirate the collection, don't give money to this dogshit collection.
2. Install the Black mod for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, you are not getting as good experience as original Ninja Gaiden II, but the Black mod tries to make the Sigma 2 version more like the OG NGII. The Black mod can't bring back the delimb system and some other stuff, so that is a shame, but it is a massive improvement, watch this video:

Also a 360 really isn't that expensive desu. Plus you get the benefit of being able to play some other OG xbox/360 exclusive games that were good, as long as you don't mind 720p and lower framerates.

On April 10 they will show new gameplay for Wanted: Dead (game made by og xbox NG and DoA devs). Honestly I'm not too fond on the neo-china cyberpunk military shit setting and especially tattooed out whore looking protagonist but even from the short clips so far the gameplay seems to have that rhythm of NG04/2. Hopefully it will have actual arrange of weapons to use. Long time since I've seen nunchucks or tonfa with a proper move set utilized in video games (yeah I know about Nioh 1/2 with tonfa but still).

NG1 and NG2 are two different games with two different design philosophies.
NG1 is slower, more methodical and the alternative weapons are not that developed. The game focuses on a mix of combat, platforming, puzzle solving and exploration.
NG2 is a much faster game, it focuses on combat and massive amount of enemies, to remedy this, Ryu has more powerful movies, the alternative weapons are very well made and there is a delimb/execution system implemented.

Some people prefer 1, some prefer 2. If you don't enjoy 1, don't stop, give NG2 a chance and make sure to install the Black mod for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

I despise the fact that Microsoft stopped with backwards compatibilty. Xbox/Xbox360 titles in 4K are great. Not to mention the stabilised framerate and fast loading times.

Try Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Black on PC. It's a mod of Sigma 2 (a rather controversial game) that upgrades it and makes it kind of a remix of OG NG2 (different enemy setups, adds an additionnal difficulty setting, actually has way more enemies than OG2 - I'm talking about the mod by the way, not the original Sigma 2.)

The Xbox One X and Xbox Series X are the best way to play the game completely preserved. It outputs the game at a true 4K and eliminates all the slowdown. It's exactly how the game should've run and the pure Itagaki experience the way he intended. It's better than a remaster that adds odd filters or alterations. Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 on the One X or Series X is the definitive way to play the games.

Ninja Gaiden Collection is great if you've already beaten the first two. It's like a remixed game that's slightly easier, you get different characters to use. It's more like DLC that changes up a game.

As far as I know they wanted to make more games compatible, but the licensing rights did not allow them to do so. I was pretty bummed that they didnt bring jet set radio future to SeX. Oh well at least the pc emulators are good alternatives

Licencing is bullshit honestly as far as I know, especially with music rights. Someone might own the rights of a song on a Microsoft game and not be cool about this compatibility and so that thing halts the whole process. Im thinking something similar happened with JSRF. Microsoft cant do much about these shit and this is why after they declared they are finished with backwards compatibility, Spencer went ahead and told people from other companies to focus on in house emulators in order for gamers to be able to play their old games and to avoid licencing hassles
