Sucks to be you I guess. I spent 10 years on a 2600K and spent around 1700 renewing everything but case and drives. But I haven't owned a television in over 20 years. All my content is streamed or pulled. Game slumps are easy just take a break and something will give you an itch. You should have a controller as a minimum and emulating the few things you want to actually play isn't complicated. There's step by step guides for pretty much anything you would want.

Spent 1700 on a custom PC with a 3080ti. Went to town downloading all the games I got shilled. Played them all for 15 minutes or so and got instantly bored.

I did the same thing for a few months after I went from 40-60fps to 144 consistently 1440P. It's more fun putting the thing together and troubleshooting and it's a reminder you're getting further from nostalgia. However part of maturity is rediscovering the inner child. I always got back into games if I unplugged for awhile. I would go camping about 5 days get back into sleeping with the sun going down and then had enough focus to want to play something. As a old fag it's pretty much a prerequisite to have caffeine on hand to play anything anymore. I also take breaks every 30 mins to an hour and try not to do unreasonably long sessions when the mojo comes back

NES and SNES works most of the time, but everything else requires both getting BIOS files, and going through settings to tweak shit so it works. Tried to play R&C and Jak&Daxter on PC, it wasn't much fun. Same with Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. Even PS1 has same shit from time to time.
Especially if you don't have a good rig, I only have GTX 1060 6GB with i5 and 16GB RAM, so I can barely run anything. And don't get me even started with controller binds working only 50% of time, requiring you to mess around with xpadder just to be sure. Especially as I use Switch Pro Controller

That isn't drag&drop. That was the whole argument for the ease of emulation.
You have to get the game, maybe BIOS file depending who you ask, launch the emulator through Steam(Maybe big picture, not sure), then open wiki to see if you have to tweak it.
If you just slap game on PS1 or PS2, the game starts.

You can say the game runs better on PC, looks better, etc. But it is more work than drag&drop unless we are talking about NES/SNES. And I don't even want to know how you get PS1 or PS2 controller working on PC.

AFAIK, the bios is for specific stuff like Saturn Japanese (since Saturn emulation is not quitere yet) other emulator just simply doesn't give a fuck since it was solved or never happened as an issue like virtualBoy.
