I'm still wondering wtf Blizzard was thinking with the recent patch. The queen nerf means literally nothing because overlords can shit creep, the fast burrow/drilling claws nerf is unnoticeable, the void ray nerf meant toss can't ever have air superiority to zerg efficiently, the only change I thought was somewhat justified was the shield battery nerf. (The other 2 aren't even worth mentioning)

I believe SC2 beta is better than current SC2, but that's mostly because it wasn't a solved problem and people could still have fun.

Apart from story how is it not? the mission design is leagues beyond the best of SC, and the visual design wins out too, on top of all that the game is actually smooth to play and there are so much more options for units and strategy.
